Doris Jean Warner
June 20, 1928 - February 2, 2022
Warner, Doris Jean (93) went to heaven to be with our father on 2/2/2022. She was born to Helen and Leroy Fritts on 6/20/28 on a farm near Meriden, KS where she grew up. She taught school in a one room schoolhouse, and later moved to Topeka, KS and worked for Hallmark, creating greeting card verses. She married Alva Eugene Warner in May, 1948 and moved to Madison, WI for his job at a start-up airlines named Wisconsin Air, that later became North Central Airlines. They moved to Minneapolis a few years later when the airlines relocated. They raised their four children in Bloomington, MN and moved to their final home in Eden Prairie in the 1980's, where Mom spent her time gardening, sewing, babysitting grandchildren, cooking everyone's favorite meal, and just being there with a smile and a hug for anyone who walked in the door. On her 80th birthday we created and presented Mom with a book titled "80 Reasons We Love Our Mom/Grandma" it was easy to fill that book because she truly was the Best Ever Mom and Grandma. She gave the best hugs, made the best mac and cheese, spaghetti & meatballs, and BBQ ribs, she never gave up on anyone, hosted the best family holiday gatherings, made the best Christmas cookies, was creative, funny, and the model of dignity, strength and beauty. She is survived by her children Jackie Fiedler (Don), Kate Grandelis (Steve), Ron Warner (Joy) and Deb White (Jeff), 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, her sister Jo Stithem of Valley Falls, KS and numerous nieces, nephews and special godchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Al (Gene) Warner, grandson Seth Warner, her parents, two sisters, and a brother. A very special thank you to her aide and best friend Christy Winlaw, and her amazing hospice team. Private interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery and a celebration of life will be held in the spring. Arrangements: Washburn McReavy, Eden Prairie Chapel
