Doorga Hanuman

Doorga “Vishnu” Hanuman was born on January 15, 1959 in Rose Hall Town, Guyana. He immigrated to the United States in 1979 and lived in Brooklyn Center, MN. Doorga spent over 30 years of his professional life providing care for veterans at the Minnesota Veterans Nursing Home as a nurse. Outside of work he enjoyed spending time with his loving wife and two daughters. He also occupied himself with reading, fishing, traveling, listening to music, and dancing. Doorga passed away peacefully on Thursday December 10, 2020 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Deoranie (“Devi”), and his two loving children, Rania and Sonya. His legacy is carried on by his father, Jagatnarain (“Sunny”) and eight siblings: Annie (Deo), Chandra (Nick), Haymant (Marsha), Hema (Gobind), Tim, Raj (Nandy), Chinn (Angela), and Savi. He’s also survived by his father-in-law, Pandit Jagnarine Misir, and three sisters-in-law: Mayo (Shiv), Patty (Deepak), and Rohini (Palo). Doorga's memory is carried on by his 10 nieces and 7 nephews. Doorga will forever be remembered by his numerous cousins, extended family, and dear friends. Doorga was preceded in death by his mother, Toolsiedai (“Doreen”), who passed December 2, 2010. Doorga will be dearly missed but his memory lives on.
