Donald Robert Prust
December 6, 1946 - October 28, 2021
Prust, Donald R. passed away after a long, brave fight with cancer on October 28, 2021. He was aged 75 years at the time, but anyone who glimpsed the twinkle in his eye, heard his raspy laugh, or witnessed his mischievous grin would know he was always young at heart. Don was a Vietnam Vet, a loving husband, a proud father, a doting grandfather, and the best friend anyone could wish for. By day, Don worked diligently at TCF, BCBS of MN where he was greatly respected. On nights and weekends, Don devoted himself to telling stories, playing games, and spending time with those he loved. He liked to work with his hands and he was generous with his talents. He wanted to help others make their dreams a reality. Don was an active participant and a respected advisor/leader in the role-playing community. He was a mentor who shared his love of games with multiple generations. Wherever Don is now, he is likely talking to whoever will listen about how much joy it brought him to play games with Ella and her friends before he had to take his final bow. Don was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence (Mike) and Ethel Engstrom Prust and his youngest sister LaNita. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Kelly O'Donoghue, daughter Jenifer Prust, granddaughter Ella, sister Rosemary Bushon, as well as many other relatives and friends. Don was well loved. He will be greatly missed. He will never be forgotten. The celebration of life will occur on July 4th at 2:00pm at a location to be announced soon and Don will be buried at Fort Snelling with honors on July 5th at 9:00am.
