David Brian Kregness

May 7, 1957 - February 21, 2022

Kregness, David Brian passed away unexpectedly on February 21, 2022 at his home on the Gunflint Trail. He and his wife moved there in 2020, a dream come true! He is survived by his wife Barbara Platnick, children Katie Dahl (Rich Higdon), Karah Metz (Mark), John Kregness, Grant Kregness, stepson Alain Aldaz, his siblings Curt Kregness (Lalia), Becky Whittle (Bruce), Ron Kregness (Dawn) and his only grandchild Guthrie Higdon. He was known for his loving and gentle heart, great humor but, most of all, for being a good listener and talker. As a young man he was a scout where he learned to love the BWCA, a place where he made a lifetime of memories with his family. He was a big fan of crossword puzzles, Culver's malts, chopping wood, True Crime Garage podcast, and Jack Reacher novels. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
