Misko Moshwe Ikwe Cheryl Raye Brown June 4, 1958 - June 20, 2022 Cottage Grove, MN Cheryl Raye Brown passed away at the age of 64 on Monday, June 20th, 2022 at her home in Cottage Grove with her daughter by her side. She is preceded in death by her partner of 21 years, Steven (Bird) Loiselle; grandparents: Bijah Chase, Sophia January, and Mina Wilson; parents: Vera and Raymond Brown; sisters: Marcelia Kaye, Daisy, Bobbi and Laura Brown; and brothers: Ronnie and Jerry Brown. Cheryl is survived by brothers Chez (Cory) Brown, Kenny (Debbie) Brown, Walter Brown; sisters Darla (Dick) Hall, Roxanne Keller, and Teri Blood; daughter, Kelly Taylor (Manny); grandchildren: William Taylor Jr. (Rafaela), Carmen (Jorge), and Ellyssa; great-granddaughter, Luna; and dogs Lilly and Mejo; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and beloved friends. Cheryl was born in Minneapolis, MN, and grew up in the Twin Cities. Cheryl attended Sanford Middle School and later attended Patrick Henry High School, where she graduated in 1976. Cheryl pursued further education in a legal secretary program at MCTC, where she graduated in 1999. Cheryl used her education to further her career at Wells Fargo, where she worked in home mortgage for 20 years. Cheryl had the most caring soul you could ever encounter. She loved listening to music and spending time with her family and friends. Cheryl took great pride in her family. She would go above and beyond to protect them and ensure they felt loved and cherished. Cheryl could always be counted on to share good conversation, honesty and lots of laughter. Cheryl honored her Native American Heritage, alongside her Christian faith. Cheryl will always be remembered and kept dear to our hearts.
