Stark, Charles "Chuck" Edwin Age 88, passed away peacefully on December 24, in Deephaven, MN. Born in Minneapolis, MN, January 5, 1933, Chuck spent most of his life in Minnetonka and Woodland, aside from a stay in Washington, DC during WWII. He was a member of the class of 1951 from Deephaven High, where he met his future wife Jean McGarvey Holman. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1952 to 1955, retiring with the rank of sergeant. Chuck and Jean were married in 1955 and moved to Groveland Assembly Grounds in Woodland. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota in 1959. Chuck always had a passion for learning, especially in regard to Jesus and spirituality. He was involved in many church committees as a member of Wayzata Community Church, where he also served as deacon. Later in life he became a member of St. Hubert's Catholic Church, Chanhassen. He and Jean also shared a passion for travel and visited many states and foreign cities including London, Paris and Hong Kong. He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Jean. Survived by his daughter Ruth (Jack) Chandler; sons Charlie (Jane Terpstra), Robert and Richard (Alice Sauvé); grandchildren Christopher and Benjamin (Katherine Ellison) Stark, Laura, Karin, Emily and Robert Chandler, and Joseph Curtis; his brother Tom (Jean); along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. A burial ceremony is planned for both Chuck and Jean at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. A celebration of life ceremony will be planned for next year due to current social distancing restrictions.
