Audrey Marie Sherry

Sherry, Audrey Marie age 95, of Edina died peacefully at home surrounded by her adoring family. She is preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Philip Sherry, parents Ernest and Cecelia Hart, and sister, Lucille Hogan. She was born August 10, 1926 in St. Paul and grew up in Minneapolis. She attended South High School and, after graduating, went to work for her father at Brown and Bigelow. She married Philip in 1947. Together they built a life centered around their growing family. They lived in Richfield, Palos Verdes, California and Edina with their 4 children. Audrey loved her church, gardening, playing golf, bridge and traveling. Her most treasured memories were being with her 4 children at the tide pools in Palos Verdes and the cabin on Whitefish. She is survived by her children Lynne Reed, Christine (Roy) Smalley, Patricia (Gary) Nelson, and Steven (Tari) Sherry, loving grandchildren, Michael, Kelly, Jeffrey, Catherine, Laura-Leigh, Jennifer, Jane, and Thomas, and great grandchildren, Alexandra, Jack, Savannah, Samantha, Emma, Lily, RJ, Liam, Jake and Luke. Audrey was quite simply, beloved. She leaves a legacy of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren each of whom has a profound sense of how deeply they were loved and how preciously unique each individual relationship was. Each and every one of her 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren secretly believe that he or she was her favorite. Audrey had a remarkable impact on people. Every person she met or knew whether close friend or mild acquaintance has been struck by her grace, kindness and caring She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. She was truly one of a kind. A private Mass of Christian Burial was held at the Church of St. Patrick in Edina and burial at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights.
