Anne Elizabeth Gaskill

With heavy hearts but joyful memories, we announce the passing of Anne Elizabeth Gaskill, who left us on November 14th, 2024, at the age of 60, after courageously battling metastatic lung cancer for over eight years. Anne's life was one of deep connection, laughter, and compassion. Born in Webster City, Iowa, on September 23rd, 1964, Anne embraced every moment with passion and purpose. She formed lifelong friendships wherever she went, from her time at the University of Iowa to running marathons, sharing coffee and pastries with friends, and getting involved in her community. After completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Iowa, Anne earned her master's degree in education from the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul. Anne's dedication to others extended to her work as a teacher, first leading the religious education program at St. Thomas the Apostle and later as a teacher in the Edina Public School District. She touched countless lives. Her passion for education, coupled with her creativity, inspired students and colleagues alike. She was always working on a project-whether it was sewing and embroidering keepsakes for a friend or family member or planning her next travel adventure. Her creativity was boundless. Anne was a devoted and amazing wife to Bob, a loving mother to Luke, Jake, and Ellie, a nurturing mother-in-law to Abby (Luke), and a proud grandmother to Jade, Jack, Hattie, and Hayes. Anne is survived by her mother, Peggy Lowary, and preceded in death by her father, Keith Lowary, MD. She was a binding force, bringing people together and forming lasting bonds. Her generosity and sense of humor were matched only by her ability to inspire those around her to live with joy, courage, and a sense of community. A mass and celebration of Anne's life will be held on Friday, November 22, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. The family will greet guests beginning at 1 p.m., with mass beginning at 2:30 p.m. A reception will follow at Wooden Hill Brewing Company. For those interested, a Saturday Morning Coffee location will be announced soon. Donations are preferred in lieu of flowers, and donations will be targeted to elementary education and cancer research.
