Yvonne Martha Graves

Yvonne Graves of Minnetonka MN passed away at the age of 86 surrounded by those she held dear. Yvonne was born on November 26th 1937, to Celestine and Florette Neisius. Growing up she lived in the suburbs of Minneapolis with her parents and sister Patsy. Yvonne's life was forever changed when she met the love of her life, Jerry, in 1985. The two of them would light up any room. They loved having fun together, whether it be traveling across the US in their RV, having their grandkids at the cabin in Breezy Point, or taking the boat out to fish on Pelican lake; the two of them enjoyed every second together. Jerry passed away in December of 2008 and we know Yvonne was patiently waiting to hold him again in Heaven. Yvonne loved being with her family. She is survived by children Lynnette (Lyn) Davis (Tom), Eric Sprungman (Deb), Lynn Whittemore (Brad), and Gay Montonye, Grandchildren, Ryan (Shelly), Camie (Grant), Sam, Angela, and Bree, as well as great grandchildren, Quinn (16), Cameron (13), Eliana (10), Brielle (9), Gianna (8), Declan (6), Cormac (4), Lochlan (3), Roman (1), and Collan (3 months). Yvonne treasured her role as a mom and grandmother. She loved to shower those closest to her with love and enjoyed passing on her expertise and talents to her grandkids and great grandchildren. Whether it be teaching her granddaughter to sew, passing on family history to her great grandchildren, or working on puzzles with the grandkids, her smile was always seen at its widest when she was close to the "kids." Yvonne's last week on Earth was spent visiting with old friends, passing on stories to her daughter and granddaughters, spending time reading scripture, and enjoying time at the zoo and Shady Oak Lake. Yvonne passed away at the cottage as the sun was setting on the evening of March 12th in the arms of her loved ones. Yvonne's family is comforted knowing that she received the Holy Eucharist hours before she passed. We know she will be watching over us and this is not "goodbye", but only "see you soon." The Funeral Mass will take place at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Minnetonka, MN on March 19th at 11AM, a visitation will take place one hour prior. Lunch will be provided after Mass.
