Yvonne Jane Comp

Yvonne Comp, age 88, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Yvonne's life was a testament to her unwavering love and compassion for others. Born to Evelyn and Raymond Tollefson and raised by Myrtle and Clarence Nelson, Yvonne was a nurturing spirit from a young age. She dedicated over two decades of her life as a foster mother, providing a safe and loving home for countless children. Her warmth and kindness extended further through 24 years of running a daycare, where she found joy in caring for little ones. Yvonne was happiest when cradling a baby in her arms, her heart overflowing with love for the children she nurtured. Yvonne is survived by her children, Randy (Julie) Comp, Terri (Mark) Vargas, John (Sara) Comp, and daughter-in-law Lori Comp. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren Tony, Madeline, Mazie, Hallie, Preston, and Sydney, as well as six great-grandchildren who brought her joy. Yvonne is also survived by her beloved brothers Dick and Doug Tollefson, brother Gayle Tollefson and wife Pat, sister June Muetzel, and many nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Delwyn, her son Jerry, and her parents. Yvonne was also welcomed into eternal rest by her sisters Carol Johannessen and Ginny Fredine, brother Glen and wife Judy Tollefson, brother Bob and wife Artis Nelson, brothers-in-law Jerry Johannessen, Lawrence Muetzel, Russell Harry, and sisters-in-law Charlotte Harry, Rose and Judy Tollefson. Yvonne's legacy is one of love and compassion. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A celebration of her life will be held on May 28, 2025, at Washburn-McReavy Glen Haven Funeral Chapel and Memorial Gardens, 5125 W Broadway, Crystal, MN 55429, where family and friends can gather to honor her. Visitation will be from 10-11am followed by a short ceremony and interment. After the interment, a light lunch will be served. Rest in peace, dear Yvonne. Your love will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those you leave behind.
