William Arthur Pederson

William "Bill" Arthur Pederson, age 78, of Eden Prairie, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026. Born on June 1948, Bill lived a life defined by deep curiosity, brilliant problem-solving, and an unwavering devotion to his family. For the past thirty years, Bill boldly battled Lupus and the complications that came along with it. He never had to face it alone; he and his wife, Elaine, formed the absolute strongest team. The love they shared is an inspiration to all who knew them, and their loyalty to each other was unwavering through every season of life. An engineer by trade, Bill's professional career was as innovative as his mind. He served as a district and regional manager for Apple Computer and later founded his own company, Pilot Technologies, where he designed and built the very first docking station for the Macintosh Powerbook computer. In his later years, he remained the go-to technology guru and consultant for many who knew him. Beyond his career, Bill possessed an endlessly inventive spirit and a rich variety of passions. He proudly earned his pilot's license and loved flying his personal planes. On the ground, he could often be found working on or driving his beloved MGs, Abby and Victoria. A true tinkerer and lifelong learner, he spent his time engineering gadgets with his 3D printer, reading, cooking, and continuously expanding his knowledge. Above all, Bill was a gentle, loyal, and witty man whose greatest joy was his family. The moments that brought him the most pride were simply watching his children and grandchildren pursue what they loved-whether that was music, gymnastics, cheering, volleyball, auto mechanics, or hands-on DIY projects. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Pederson; daughters Kristin (Justin) Pett and Michelle Fischer; and son Chad (Angie) Pederson. He was a proud grandfather to Fischer (Gray) Johnson, Spencer (Chloe) Johnson - Forrest Johnson (father to Fischer & Spencer), Lexi Pederson, and Maddie Pederson; and a doting great-grandfather to Weston. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Milford and Mary Mae Pederson, and his sisters, Kathy, Jean, and Linda. A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Washburn McReavy Funeral Chapel, 7625 Mitchell Road, Eden Prairie, MN 55344. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a service at 2:00 p.m.
