Bill Meister April 3, 2024 William "Bill" Meister passed away the morning of April 3, 2024. Bill fought a courageous, 7-year battle with colon cancer. The last two years were particularly difficult as the disease progressed. His determination to heal was unending, trying every treatment until there were no more. He truly was an inspiration. Born to Lavonne and Richard Meister on November 19, 1964, in Minneapolis, MN., Bill along with his six siblings was raised in Bloomington, MN. He attended Lincoln and Jefferson High schools, graduating from Jefferson in 1983. Growing up Bill spent time traveling with his family, driving his TransAm, and enjoying good times with friends. In 1996 Bill and former wife Christina Meister welcomed the first of their three children, Ashley Elizabeth, into the world. In 1998, Aimee Angele was born and soon after in 1999 Alyssa Michaela. Ashley, Aimee and Alyssa were Bill's pride and joy and he loved them more than anything else in life. So many cherished memories of learning to ride bikes, soccer games, driving lessons, and card games. His "three girls" are what kept him going through his battle; he pushed every day to spend another day with them. In July of 2017, Bill married his wife Sharon in a small ceremony at their home in Lakeville, MN. They shared so many good times at sporting events, happy hours, hanging on the deck listening to music, and traveling. And of course, spending time with their husky baby girl Brandi. Bill was her person, and she waited every day for a ride in his truck. Bill quickly became one of Sharon's "CLE" family who adopted him immediately after meeting him. He enjoyed spending time with his CLE family so much. In 2021, Bill retired early from a 26-year career as a Mail Carrier for the USPS, Diamond Lake Branch. The outpouring of wishes from his customers was a testament to how much he cared about his work. Bill was an avid sports fan and a number one fan of The Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Vikings, and Minnesota Wild. He had an amazing ability for remembering statistics and specifics from games years back no matter the team. He saw the Twins win two World Series in his lifetime, and he and Eric Mootz watched those games over and over. The Vikings couldn't give him a Superbowl win but he did attend a Vikings Superbowl in CA when he was a young boy with his parents and brother Dick. He found joy in simple things like sunning on the beach, enjoying happy hour with friends, watching sports, and eating chicken wings! His bright eyes and warm smile will be missed forever. Bill is survived by his loving wife Sharon Meister, his three adoring daughters Ashley, Aimee and Alyssa, Siblings Diana Morgan, Barbara (Art) Bigham, Kathryn Klucas, Timothy Bachmeyer, Richard (Sarah) Meister and former wife Christina Meister. He was a Brother-in-law, Friend, Uncle, and Cousin to many. Bill was proceeded in death by his much-loved parents, Lavonne and Richard Meister, and sister Sandra Grant. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 31st at 11:00 AM at Washburn-McReavy Dawn Valley Funeral Chapel; 9940 Bush Lake Road, Bloomington, MN 55438. The Family will welcome guests for a Celebration of life at their Lakeville home at 1pm.
