William "Gabe" Kleinschmidt October 30, 1989 - April 14, 2025 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William "Gabe" Kleinschmidt. Gabe brought light, joy, and inspiration to everyone fortunate enough to know him. His warm smile and kind presence had a way of making others feel welcomed and at ease. In his early years, Gabe's family moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, where he developed a love for snowboarding in the majestic Rockies. Boarding with his closest friends became one of his greatest joys. A gifted athlete, Gabe excelled in soccer, track, and football, creating cherished memories with his family through frequent travels to new destinations. After returning to Minnesota, Gabe graduated from St. Thomas Academy, where he played basketball and football and discovered a natural talent for hurdles in 11th grade, despite having no prior experience. He continued his athletic pursuits at Bethel University, where he competed in track and football. In his junior year, his team advanced to the NCAA Division III semifinals against Mount Union, a testament to his dedication and skill. Gabe's compassionate spirit extended beyond sports. During high school summers, he volunteered at an orphanage in Cebu, Philippines, where his love and passion shone as he mentored and supported young adults. He also devoted time to the Our Lady of Peace Hospice, providing comfort and solace to those in their final moments. After college, Gabe spent a summer in Oregon as a camp counselor before returning to Minnesota, where he embarked on a career as a certified pharmacy technician. Over the years, he honed his skills and took pride in his work. Gabe was a gentle soul with a thoughtful and reserved demeanor. When he spoke, his words were meaningful, sparking engaging and insightful conversations. Always ready to support his loved ones, Gabe was a loyal friend and a devoted family member who will be deeply missed. Gabe was preceded in death by his cherished childhood companion, Willie, a 95-pound golden retriever who shared countless adventures and unwavering loyalty throughout Gabe's early years. We find comfort in imagining Willie joyfully greeting Gabe at the gates of heaven. Gabe is survived by his mother, Patricia Trebnick; his brother, Benjamin Kleinschmidt; his father, Thomas Kleinschmidt; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
