Virginia Rae Sundeen

Virginia Rae Sundeen (Glibbery) Virginia, 93, returned to our Lord Tues. May 14th surrounded by family. Born May 12, 1931 in Duluth, Mn to Frederick and Marie Glibbery. Graduated from Central High in 1949. Married her high school sweetheart, Ronald Sundeen on Feb. 11,1950. Together they raised 10 children who filled a pew every Sunday at First Lutheran church in Duluth. Graduated from UMD in 1972 with a bachelors degree in Home Economics. The family moved to Forest Lake in 1975 where she worked for 4 years as the Anoka County Home Economics Specialist. In 1979, she and Ron moved to Keystone Heights, Florida for new adventures! There, she earned her masters degree in 1985 at the University of Florida while working for Alachua County. In 1997, she and Ron retired to enjoy a lake front home in Wascott, Wi. where they had many fun filled weekends with family! Upon Ron's passing, she decided to move to Sun City Center, Fl. There she spent 16 wonderful years in the sunshine! Needing to be around her much expanding family, in 2018 once again she moved north! Her last place to call home was in the Independent Living facility at The Farmstead in Andover, Mn. There, she made many friends who enjoyed listening to her many geneology discoveries, family outings, and her remembrance of childhood songs. Virginia cherished every moment she had with her family! Her "Christmas Pudding" will forever be missed. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ron, 2 sons Grant and Geoffrey, and grandson Scott Trenda. Virginia is survived by; 2 sister-in-laws, Mary (Ken) Sundeen, Mary Ann (Chuck) Howard, her children, Gary(Wendy), Greg(Susan), daughter-in-law Laurie(Geoffrey), Gilford(Mary), Griffen(Becky), Gretchen Trenda(Michael), Garth(Sally), Galen(Cathy), and Graydon; 19 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. Memorial Service: Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024 at St Stephen Lutheran Church, 1965 Cty Rd E. White Bear Lake, Mn 55109. 10:00 a.m. visitation with friends and family, 11:00 service and 12:00 luncheon at the church. A private family inurnment will take place at Park Hill Cemetery at a later date.
