Vicki DeeAnn Johnson

VICKI DEE ANN JOHNSON, 50-year resident of Coon Rapids, MN, was born on March 16, 1941. She was the third child of Harry Schrock and Victoria Adam. Vicki passed away of an unstoppable lung disease on September 6, 2024 at age of 83. She was born in Somerset, PA. Her mother died when Vicki was age 6, which was traumatic for her and her siblings; so, at age 14 she and her older sister Lana then moved to Minnesota to live with her aunt Agnes Burke, where she attended high school in St. Louis Park, MN, graduating in 1959, and excelling in executive secretarial skills. Vicki leaves behind her loving husband of 61 years, Roger Johnson, and her sister, Lana Ryden of Greeley, Colorado and brother, Ronald Schrock, of Somerset, PA. She is survived by sons Erik and Chad (Marie) Johnson, grandchildren Steven, Ashley (fiancee Wyatt) and Tyler Johnson (friend Becca), Steven (K-La) and great-grandchildren Kylie (13) and Paityn (10) Davis and Jamison Johnson (7) and Wesley Johnson (1½). She was fondly loved by each member of her family, and she loved them mightily in return. Following high school, Vicki went to work at the First National Bank of Minneapolis in the personnel department, where she made life-long friends with whom she met for annual reunions for the next 50 years. They called themselves the "Fab Five" and shared many wonderful experiences as young women in a pre-"me too" corporate environment. Vicki met her husband Roger in 1959; they dated for 4 years and married in 1963. They were devoted to each other and built a great life together, deciding to grow old and take care of each other until the end. Vicki's life-long passion was raising her two adopted sons and making certain that they always had the best of her time and interest. She was very proud that they both earned the rank of Eagle Scout, and went on to become entirely self-sufficient, employed and successful men in their own right. She absolutely adored her three grandchildren, and doted over them as much as possible. When they all grew up and achieved their own dreams, she remarked that her cycle of life was complete, and her great-grandchildren continued to make her smile at the realization that her entire family of 15 were all truly loved. Once her children were both in school during the day, Vicki's secretarial skills brought her to work at the Anoka-Hennepin School District for 27 years, first at Fred Moore Middle School and finally at Champlin Park High School, where she served as the English Dept. secretary for 15 years, retiring in 2004. Vicki joined the Coon Rapids Lioness Club, following her retirement, and served as its secretary and then president. She moved on to join the Coon Rapids Lions Club, when her Lioness Club folded. She also joined the Anoka Philolectian Society, where she also served as its secretary and then president. Vicki was always willing to give back to her community through philanthropic giving and using her executive skills to advance the goals of these community non-profit organizations in which she maintained membership until her passing. A reviewal will be held at the Washburn-McReavy Chapel, 1827 Coon Rapids Blvd., Coon Rapids, MN, on Tuesday 9/17 from 4-7pm. For the benefit of her loving family and friends, a formal funeral ceremony will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 11115 Hanson Boulevard, Coon Rapids, MN 55433, (763-755-3530) on Wednesday 9/18 at 11:00am with visitation starting at 10:00am.
