Trudy Enlund Johnson

Trudy J. Enlund Johnson, age 82, of Shoreview passed away peacefully at her home on May 24, 2026. She was born Nov. 24th, 1943, in Brainerd, MN to Ralph and Loreth (Holm) Enlund. Trudy married the love of her life, David C. Johnson, at the Como Conservatory on April 10, 1982. After graduating from the Gustavus Adolphus nursing program, Trudy was a Public Health Nurse and then Supervisor at Ramsey County Public Health for 25 years. She devoted her professional life to serving others, offering care, compassion, and steady support to the individuals and families she encountered throughout her career. Her work reflected the kindness and sense of duty that shaped her life. Her commitment to children led her to serve on the Board of the Children's Home Society. After retirement, Trudy and David traveled cross-country in their motor home embracing the open road and the opportunity to see new places. They loved sailing on Lake Superior. David passed away on August 10, 2006. Outside of work, Trudy found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed entertaining friends on her pontoon boat on White Bear Lake. Trudy loved quilting, a pastime that reflected both her patience and creativity-making exquisite quilts. She was a master quilter and enjoyed teaching and mentoring quilters. She was an avid knitter and doll collector. Trudy also treasured the companionship of her beloved dog, Hudson, who brought her comfort and joy. Trudy was very proud of her Swedish heritage. Trudy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She leaves behind the memory of a life marked by service, independence, and quiet resilience. She will be remembered with affection by those who knew her and by all whose lives were touched by her care and friendship. Trudy leaves behind cousins: Mary Dean, John Anderson, Johnny Holm, Craig (Terri) Enlund, Bradley Enlund, and Debbie (Mike) Harne, and their families: her stepchildren: Marshall Johnson, David Scott (Ysleta) Johnson, Carole (Gerald) Pepper, and Linda Coleman and their families. Private interment on Monday June 1 at Incarnation Cemetery in Lino Lakes for family and close friends. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled later. Memorials should be sent to Children's Home Society and Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota 1605 Eustis Street, St. Paul, MN 55108.
