Tiffany Marie Mahin

Tiffany Marie was born in San Diego June 16, 1991 and was named by her birth mother. Mother Wendy was struggling with drug addiction, and Tiffany was put into the foster care system. She came to be our foster daughter at age 15 months. With her came: a plastic bag with a sunsuit, sandals and a stuffed Bert doll. That is all. At age 2 1/2 she came to live with us in Minnesota where we all raised our hands in favor of adopting her. She loved animals, ballet, and being creative. She loved Rosie the guinea pig, Wally our cockapoo, her pet rat and snakes too. She was a good synchronized swimmer and loved her piano teacher, Beatriz. But already in elementary school, life became bumpy. By age 15 she was dabbling in drugs. She graduated from the alternative school at Hopkins High. The boys loved her and she always had a boyfriend. Actually everyone loved her; she just attracted people. Tiffany bought clothes at resale shops and remade them to sell online. She made jewelry and drew freehand tattoos. At age 25 she had a son, Joseph. She thought she would like being a mom but the pull of drugs got in the way. Joseph ended up being adopted by a wonderful family in Elbow Lake, Minnesota. Tiffany arrived at Adult and Teen Challenge in January of 2021. The community of women surrounded her and she embraced the faith in God that was taught there. When she became pregnant she had to leave that program for one that accepted children. She delivered her son Harlow Paul on August 20, masked and very sick with COVID. As you can see in the photo, she adored her son. She enjoyed being part of the Mahin family activities again, and expressed regret at all she had missed. In January 2022, she was scheduled to begin cosmetology school. She was busy setting up day care and her new life. So quickly, it ended. Her memorial service will be Thursday December 9 at 4pm. The Family will be available at 3pm at Colonial Church of Edina before the service. A photo slide show will be shown starting around 3:45. Masks are required in the church.
