Thomas Arthur Weigel, a devoted father, beloved son, and skilled diesel mechanic, passed away on October 21, 2023, at the age of 58. Born on October 8, 1965, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Thomas brought joy and laughter to the lives of those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Thomas grew up in the town of Stillwater, Minnesota, where he developed a passion for building and painting model cars. His creative soul extended to drawing, capturing the beauty of the world through his artistic talent. With a deep love for Chevy trucks, Thomas would often be found tinkering under the hood, pouring his heart into making them run flawlessly. A nature enthusiast, Thomas embraced the outdoors wholeheartedly. He enjoyed camping trips, fishing escapades, and the thrill of riding on ATVs. His greatest joy, however, came from spending time in nature with his two children, creating everlasting memories and passing down his love for the great outdoors. Those who knew Thomas will remember him for his straightforward nature, mixed with a healthy dose of sarcasm. His quick wit and sharp sense of humor had a way of brightening any room. With a repertoire of funny stories, Thomas had a knack for leaving everyone in stitches, his laughter echoing in the hearts of those who had the privilege to hear it. But beyond his humor, Thomas was a selfless soul. Always ready to lend a hand and care for others when they needed it most, he touched countless lives with his generosity and compassion. His dedication to his work as a diesel mechanic, both during his service in the United States Marine Corps and in civilian life, showcased his unwavering commitment and expertise. Thomas enlisted in the Marines on April 28, 1986, and proudly served his country until April 27, 1990. Rising to the rank of Corporal, his time in the military took him to distant lands, including an unforgettable deployment to China. His experiences during this period shaped him into the honorable and resilient man he became. Thomas is survived by his daughter, Brittney Mead; son, Collin Weigel; and his devoted mother, Sylvia Woods. They will forever cherish the memories they shared and the bond they held with him. In accordance with his wishes, Thomas will be cremated and laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A private committal service will take place with immediate family. As we bid farewell to Thomas Arthur Weigel, we remember his laughter, his kindness, and the impact he had on each of our lives. He will live on in our hearts and minds, forever etched in our fondest memories. May he find peace in the arms of eternity, forever embraced by the beauty of the nature he adored.
