Thomas Leo Schuller

Thomas Leo Schuller, age 83, of Annandale, passed away on November 28, 2023, with his family by his side. Tom is survived by his loving wife Kathy, his children and grandchildren: Tim (Liz), Jojo and Tim; Suzie (Kevin), Lauren and Allie; Theresa (Neal), Patrick and Delaney; Christine (Chris), Will and Cole along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Mary and Chet, his siblings Jerry, JoAnne and Chuck along with his daughter Karen. Tom was born on April 13, 1940 in Minneapolis, MN, to Mary and Chet Schuller. Tom graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1958. After high school he joined the Army where he worked as a nike missle specialist until 1964 when he was honorably discharged. Tom's first career was managing over 20 Country Club Markets. His second was overseeing a State Farm insurance agency in downtown Minneapolis. During his 50 years of work, he never took a single sick day. Tom married his beloved Kathy September 23,1994. Tom and Kathy loved to spend time with friends and family at their cabin on the Yellow River in Danbury, WI. They loved to travel and see the world from the luxury of a cruise ship with their friends. Tom loved anything outdoors, hiking, biking, cross country skiing, hunting and fishing. During his sunset, playing cribbage and smoking cigars were the top of his list. If you were to play, Tom always made sure his opponent had a dollar bill in hand to keep the game exciting. Tom approached aging with a smile and a never diminishing quick wit. It was widely known that Tom was a character in all the best ways. He loved his years living on Clearwater Lake. He looked forward to the weekends where his backyard would be bustling with the laughter and smiles of his children and grandchildren. Tom's faith was very important to him and helped get him through many of life's struggles. He took great pride in recently being awarded his 50 year sobriety medallion from AA. Mass of Christian burial will be held at the Church of St Ignatius 35 Birch Street East, Annandale, MN, 55302 on Thursday December 14. Visitation will be 6:00-7:30 pm with mass to follow. Tom will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in a private service. At the end of Tom's battle with Alzheimers and congestive heart failure he was cared for at Quiet Oaks Hospice House by a loving and caring team of nurses.
