THOMAS DALE SCHNECK March 31, 1950 - June 4, 2023 Tom was born to parents Ken and Pat Schneck in Wausau, Wisconsin. Tom was the oldest child with seven younger sisters. As a young child Tom's family moved often, and as an adult, he made his home in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. In Robbinsdale, he met and married the one and only love of his life, Joy, on July 11, 1970. They had three children, Melissa, Cale and Kevin. His sense of humor and love for all were ever present and made him the man we know and love. Tom started out as a machine operator and ended his career as a mechanic/boilerman in 2015. He worked for several different companies, but entered the same building everyday for 46 years. Tom was passionately involved with all the kids' activities including hockey, football, and band practices. He coached, managed teams and enjoyed every minute of involvement. Tom loved his sports, especially hockey, Nascar and fishing. He loved watching hockey, especially following the Minnesota Wild. At one of the Nascar races, he had dinner with the Petty family and it became a trip of a lifetime for him. His favorite evening was sitting on the dock fishing, enjoying the lake. He loved hearing the kids having fun in the water. He was blessed with five beautiful grandchildren, Chloe, Kyah, Levi, Madi and Alexis. He enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them, attending activities, teaching them to fish and playing cards were favorites. Tom's faith journey led him to Timberwood Church where he found many friends, volunteer activities and grew his relationship with Jesus. The battle with cancer began in April of 2022. His trips everyday to the cities for radiation and chemo were difficult, but he never gave up or lost his faith. His valiant battle came to an end at Abbott Northwestern hospital with family surrounding his bedside. Tom is survived by his wife Joy; children, Melissa, Cale and Kevin; sisters, Jean (Doug), Kathy (Ed), Mary (Jerry), Linda (Don), Patti (Robb), and Julie (Ray); and five grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Ken and Pat Schneck and sister, Susan. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Timberwood Church, 23084 State Highway 371, Nisswa, Minnesota 56468. Visitation will take place at 11:00 AM, prior to services. In lieu of flowers Tom's family would prefer memorials to Timberwood Church or your charity of choice.
