Thomas "Tom" Joseph Clyde

Thomas (Tom) Joseph Clyde passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 23rd, 2024. Thomas Joseph Clyde 80 was born in Kansas City, Kansas, on January 11th, 1944, to John and Margaret (Henry) Clyde. His father was KIA in 1945. Later, his mother would move to MN and would remarry Francis (Bud) O'Keefe. Tom grew up in Prior Lake MN, graduated from Prior Lake High School in 1963. Immediately after graduation, Tom proudly entered the USA Navy, where he served 4 years during Vietnam. When he returned, he attended vocational school, where he earned his certification in welding. In 1975, he met Beverly the love of his life, they were married in 1978 and started their lives together. They moved to Minnetonka, MN, where they raised their four daughters, Melissa, Amanda, Sarah, and Kimberly. Tom retired from Nielfisk Advance, where he had worked as a union welder for over 30. Tom loved his wife Beverly to her death. He became a widower in 2017 when he lost the love of his life unexpectedly to cancer. Tom's four daughters kept him busy with grandchildren and their activities. He also had a love for trains, coins, football, and movies. If you knew Tom, you knew he had a love for all movies from all time periods, from Disney to action, but his favorites were always old John Wayne or anything WW2. Tom also enjoyed deer hunting with his family each year. Tom is proceeded in death by his parents, John and Margaret, his stepfather Francis, and his wife Beverly. Tom is survived by his daughters Melissa (Christopher) Smith, Amanda (Matthew) Abel, Sarah (Travis) Sundell, and Kimberly Clyde; Siblings Margaret(Peg) O'Keefe (Steve Williamson), Mary Katherine(Kitty) Pallanch (John), James O'Keefe (Michelle), Connie O'Keefe, Daniel O'Keefe (Cyndie), Deborah O'Keefe; Grandchildren Autumn (Josh) Dodd, Kaitlyn, Zachary, Caleb, Rebekah, Elijah and, Naomi Smith; Ava and William Abel; Hailey Pisarski, Lincoln, and Olivia Sundell; Emma, Savanah Clyde, Kaylee, Neveah, Jayla Craig; Great-granddaughter Magnolia Dodd; as well as many nieces and nephews and other family and friends. We are grateful for Tom's service to our country, his dedication to family, and his humor. Tom will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. We love you Dad. Funeral Service will be held at Washburn-McReavy Hopkins Chapel 1400 Main Street, Hopkins, MN 55343, on October 29th at 6:00 pm. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Burial and Committal Service will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on October 30th at 10:45 am. SHARP! Please enter through Gate 2. We will meet at 10:30 am. in Assembly Area 4 for Gravesite Processional. Celebration of Life will take place following at Prior Lake VFW Post 6208 16306 Main Ave SE, Prior Lake, MN 55372
