Therese Marie Scheele (nee Nelson)

Terry passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Fairview University Hospital, in the presence of David, her loving husband of 36 years, after fighting a five-year battle with cancer. Her strength, determination and faith were an inspiration to all who knew her. Her father, Milton G. Nelson; nephew, Scott Nelson and niece, Lisa Nelson precede her in death. In addition to her husband David, she is survived by her mother, Dorothy Nelson of St. Paul, MN; daughters, Jennifer Van Horn (Dale) of Merrifield, MN and Tara Lefebvre (Joshua) of Becker, MN; 5 grandchildren, Joshua, Gabriella, Isabelle, Olivia and Miranda; brother, Jim Nelson (Colleen) of Roseville, MN; sisters, Karen Nelson of Vadnais Heights, MN and Barb Rogers (Bob) of Maplewood, MN; nephews, Jon and Ben Nelson and Nick Rogers; best friends Carol Morris and Sue Kromminga, and many other friends. Terry was born on February 2, 1952 and graduated from St. Joseph's Academy. Later in her career, she earned a legal secretary degree at Anoka Hennepin Technical School. She worked at William Hansen & Associates Elder Care in Golden Valley, MN until 2005 when, because of her illness, she needed to take a disability leave. Terry was very gifted at quilting, crocheting and needlepoint and enjoyed the time spent with her friends creating gifts for others. Terry grew up in St. Paul, MN. She lived for a few years in Falcon Heights, MN before moving to Elk River, MN in 1989 where she lived until 2003 when they moved to Blaine, MN. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Oncology unit at Fairview University Hospital for their care and support during Terry's final days. We would also like to thank her oncologist, Dr. Edward Greeno and the staff at Masonic Cancer Clinic; Kyle Olson, PA-C, and Carrie Collyard-Glinsek-DC for their care and comfort over the last five years. Her life will be celebrated with a memorial service Monday, April 21, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the HOLCOMB-HENRY-BOOM FUNERAL HOME, 515 Hwy 96 W. at Mackubin, Shoreview (651-482-7606). Visitation 2-6 PM Sunday, April 20 and again on Monday from 10:00 AM until time of service. Rest in peace Terry. Your courageous journey is over and you are finally at peace and in the presence of GOD. Memorials preferred to family.
