Susan Mary Spiegle

Susan Mary Spiegle August 7, 1959 - September 5, 2026 On Saturday, September 5, 2026, our dearly loved Susan peacefully crossed the threshold of heaven and into the loving arms of Jesus. After more than five years of courageously battling Ovarian Cancer, Susan took her final breath, holding her husband's hand and surrounded by her four children. Although our hearts are broken by her passing, we find great comfort knowing that she is now completely restored, free from pain and home with her Savior. She fought the good fight, she ran the race and she finished her life well lived. Susan was a loving wife of 42 years, a devoted mother and an over-the-moon grandmother. She was a woman of deep faith, contagious energy, creativity and an extraordinary ability to make people feel that they mattered. Susan was born on August 7, 1959, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to John and Aileen Faulks. She grew up in Mequon, Wisconsin with her brothers, Todd and Tim. She graduated from Homestead High School where she was a member of the downhill ski team and went on to earn her nursing degree from UW-Madison in 1983. She enjoyed a nursing career spanning more than 25 years, during which she also earned her master's degree in Marriage and Family Counseling at Bethel University to help better support her patients and their loved ones. During her time in Madison, Susan met her landlord, who would become the love of her life. Susan and Duane married in 1984 and eventually settled in Minneapolis, where they raised their four children, Sarah, Micah, Laura and Aaron. Her children, their spouses and her nine grandchildren were the joys of her life and she treasured watching each of them grow into their own unique people. Susan's faith and generous heart led her to serve others throughout her life. She was a longtime member of Grace Church in Eden Prairie, where she mentored younger women, supported single mothers, served on mission trips in Peru and Kenya and faithfully prayed for those around her. She also gave her time to P.R.O.P., a local nonprofit supporting community needs. She treasured quiet mornings spent journaling and reading, using that time to intentionally grow in her faith and character. Susan was endlessly curious and creative. She had a passion for making handmade jewelry from broken and discarded pieces under the name "Sincerely Susan". She was always learning new techniques and exploring different mediums, often taking classes with family and friends who shared her enthusiasm for creating. She also loved to travel and explore new places with Duane, family and friends. Of all the places she traveled, her heart belonged to "Narnia", her family's lake home in Wisconsin. For more than 40 years, it has been a treasured place filled with family, nature, laughter and memories. Whether at the lake, traveling the world, or simply gathering around a table to do a puzzle, Susan understood that the best part of any place was the people she shared it with. When Susan was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2021, she faced the battle with remarkable determination, faith and grace. Through difficult days and uncertain moments, she continued to love, serve, create, travel, laugh and make memories with the people who meant the most to her. Her legacy will continue through the memories shared by all those who knew and loved her. Susan is preceded in death by her loving parents, John T. Faulks and Aileen B. Faulks (Boyd), and stepmother Patricia Faulks (Spick). She is survived by her husband, Duane Spiegle; daughters Sarah Spiegle and Laura (Dillon) Barmore; sons Micah (Nicole) Spiegle and Aaron (Katie) Spiegle; nine grandchildren; and brothers Todd (Anne) Faulks and Tim Faulks. **Celebration Details** A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, October 21 at Grace Church Chapel at 9301 Eden Prairie Road, Eden Prairie, MN.
