Susan Ann Olsen

Susan Ann (Alexander) Olsen, a loving and caring wife, friend, partner, lover and companion has taken her final step here on this earth and joined our Heavenly Father. Her life was full and she cared for many along the way. From cooking, to caring, to holding and talking, she touched numerous lives and hearts along her path. Susan was born in Stillwater, Minnesota on October 8, 1943. She was called home by our Lord on July 28th, 2022. She is survived by her husband of 19 years Robert, son Coburn Shank (Brenda) of Clive, Iowa, and son Tatum Shank (Jennifer) of Burbank, CA. She is also survived by sisters Judy Dewhurst (Richard) of Hayward, WI, brother Craig Alexander (Karen) of Livermore, CA and sister Kay Munson of Granite Bay, CA, who's husband Dale preceded Susan in death. Susan's parents Stanley and Eleanor Alexander have also preceded her in death. Susan's earlier years were spent mainly with friends and family in Bayport, MN. From Ice Skating to dances in friends garages, to singing in the church choir, and church groups, to competing for and acquiring the title of Miss Stillwater, her life was filled with church and friends. And to prove that, she was awarded the title of Miss congeniality in the Miss Minnesota contest. As time went along Susan married and had two wonderful children, Coby and Tatum. Her attention turned to them as she raised both to become caring and loving children, young men and finally adults. Susan's life was never far from the actions, and activities of her sons. And then came grandchildren. First Caylee Sue Shank, then came Brianna Woods, then Joshua Shank and finally Skylar Shank, and extended family and friends. Susan's career was as a property manager for Prudential out of Des Moines, Iowa, and for many years took care of the larger buildings in that area. Although asked twice by Robert for her hand in marriage, Susan finally said yes to her very first love and were married in 2003, while over looking the Pacific Ocean. Susan's life has been full and meaningful. She will be and is remembered by many as being a loving and deeply caring person and long time friend. She will be missed by many, forever!
