Susan Dale (Alexander) Moore

Moore, Susan Dale (Alexander) Age 72, passed away May 26 at N.C. Little Hospice in Edina. She is survived by daughter, Amy Haben (John); son, Tom (Lori); 2 grandsons Jack and Will Haben; brother, Douglas Alexander (Judy); and her beloved chocolate lab, Oliver. Susan was preceded in death by her husband David; mother, Genevieve Alexander; infant brother Thomas; father and mother-in-Law Donald and Dorothy Moore; brother-in-law, Richard Moore. Susan and her brother were raised in St. Cloud, MN by their Mother, Genevieve Alexander. She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1963 and went on to earn her license as a LPN from Miller Hospital School of Nursing in St. Paul. In high school, she met David Moore, her life-long love. They were married on September 10, 1966, moved to Minneapolis and raised their children, Amy and Tom. Susan spent a decade as a geriatric and pediatric nurse working at the St. Cloud VA, Unity Hosp. and Abbott Hosp. Later, she spent many years at the Park Nicollet Eye Department as an office administrator. In 1994, Dave and Susan moved to Denver, CO where they spent 15 years filled with baseball, great friends, many family visits and lots of outdoor adventures. They returned to MN in 2008 and settled in Waconia. Dave and Susan were blessed with 42 years of marriage. While in Colorado, Susan found her passion as an artist, specializing in clay sculpture. She was a prolific reader who belonged to books clubs where she made many dear friends. Over the last ten years, Susan (Nana to her family) loved to be on the family farm supporting the family venture in raising heritage Scottish Highland cattle and enjoying her "tiny house" retreat. She supported her communities as School Board President, South Parks Catholic School; Girl Scout Troup Leader; MN Landscape Arboretum and Waconia Hospital volunteer. Of all her interests and activities, Susan cared most for and deeply loved her family. Susan's children would like to thank N.C. Little Hospice for the gentle care of the loving staff who were a true blessing to our Mom and her family during her brief and difficult journey with cancer.
