Susan L. (Nipper) Dunn

Dunn, Susan L. (Nipper) Sue Dunn moved on to heaven February 7, 2016, after a 15-year battle with breast cancer, at the age of 57. She is survived by her husband married over 30 years, Brian J.; her sons BJ, William and Joseph; her mother Vicki; brothers Jeff, Randy (Sue), Tim and Drew (Tammy); many nieces and nephews; Aunt Louise and Uncle Ed. She is preceded in death by her beloved father Tom and her grandparents. Sue graduated from the University of Minnesota as an RN and worked for the American Red Cross in the Apheresis unit before retiring to concentrate on her life's work: raising her three sons, whom she adored. She loved the Vikings, the Twins and the Timberwolves, and especially loved watching her sons play basketball for the Benilde-St. Margaret's Red Knights and the University of St. Thomas Tommies. More than anything, Sue loved her family and friends. She lived a life in service of others, and tried to put a smile on the face of everyone she came across. She never had an unkind word for anyone, and despite her difficult battle, never complained or lamented. She became an active supporter of the battle against breast cancer, but for 15 years, she insisted that cancer would not define her or her family. It never did. She was actively involved at our Lady of Grace School - in particular in helping to bring technology to the students of OLG -and an enthusiastic supporter of Benilde St. Margaret's High School. Everything Sue touched was made better by her involvement. She will be desperately missed here on earth but will bring her big, generous heart and faithful soul to heaven to join the communion of saints. While we are all heartbroken about losing our beloved wife/ mother/daughter/sister/friend here on earth, we are grateful that her suffering has come to an end, and that she has made a peaceful passage to heaven. Mass of Christian Burial 11am Thursday February 11th with visitation beginning at 10am at The Church of Our Lady of Grace, 5051 Eden Ave. S., Edina. Interment Lakewood Cemetery.
