Steven David Stodieck

Stodieck, Steven David Age 66, of Bloomington MN passed unexpectedly on August 15, 2014 in his home. Survived by his loving wife of 47 years Anna Luisa Stodieck, son Steven Jason Stodieck his wife Cherie Stodieck and two grandchildren Amanda and Alexis Stodieck, son Jarrett David Stodieck and his fiance Chai Vang and grandchildren Destin and Devon Stodieck, daughter Stephanie Danielle Contolatis and son-in-law Constantine Contolatis. His beloved siblings Patricia Karsko, Kathy Johnston, and Richard Stodieck. Steven also had many more relatives, friends, and neighbors of which whom he loved and adored. Steven was born October 30, 1947 in Minneapolis, MN to Lorraine Stodieck Sherer, and Loyal "Bud" Stodieck. After high school he joined the United States Coast Guard where he served 4 years. After the service he married his beloved wife Anna and began his career with Proctor and Gamble. As a district sales manager he won numerous awards including District Account Manager of the Year, The Lawrence Gelb Award, Outstanding achievement in sales, merchan- dising, and territory management to name a few. Upon retiring after 30 years with P&G he began his "retirement" career which was especially fulfilling to him. "Helping people," is what he loved to do most at Washburn-McReavy Dawn Valley Chapel and Memorial Park for the past 10 years as a pre-arrangement specialist and in cemetery sales. One of his life's passions was playing sports and coaching his children and wife's many sports teams; including ice hockey, floor hockey, broom ball, soccer, volleyball, and softball. He was instrumental in bringing his wife's softball team "Kleve" from a D League to a AA League winning 5 state titles in Bloomington, MN and eventually leading them to the Nationals. One of Steve's favorite hobbies was collecting classic cars, restoring them, and taking them to car shows with his family and friends. He was a contributing member of the Buick Club and also won numerous awards for his classic cars at car shows throughout the state. Steve was a volunteer for the city of Bloomington mowing lawns, shovel-ing, and snow blowing for neighbors and elderly in the entire community. Steve raised money for cancer, and would bring basic necessities to the local homeless shelters for many years. Steve never turned away from any opportunity to make anyone he meets feel validated and special. He had a rare gift with the ability to bring laughter and joy to any situation. Steve had a special gift of which his own family was amazed; therefore they nicknamed him "The Dog Whisperer." There was not a pet that he could not train. He would also take in any pet that needed a home throughout his entire life. He had two show dogs, German Shepherd's, "Chicano" and "Chastity" which won awards. His most recent pets are two rat terriers, "chico", and "chica" who will miss him dearly. Interment Washburn-McReavy Dawn Valley Memorial Park.
