Steven Charles Berntson

Age 54 of Lino Lakes. Died April 27, 2019. Survived by his wife, Shelly; daughter, Angela; mother, Kathryn; siblings, Luanne (Paul) Rynders and Debra (John) Nelson; nieces and nephews, Daniel Rynders, Brent Rynders, Nathan Rynders, Kate Rynders, Jared Steven Nelson, Bryce Nelson, Isaac Nelson, and Grace Nelson; mother-in-law, Chellie (Chuck) Heidenreich; sister-in-law's, Barb (Steve) Shaw, Theresa (Dan) Nowicki, brother-in-law's, Mike (Tami) Thein, Pat (Donna) Thein; niece, Kelsie Nowicki, nephews, Tyler Nowicki, Jared Thein and Chase Thein; beloved dogs, Harley and Scout and many other family and friends. Preceded in death by father, Harlan; grandparents, Ernest and Myrtle Nelson. Longtime employee of Marsden, most recently MSI. Avid outdoorsman and loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle. A graduate with highest honors of Dunwoody in 2010 with an Associate in Applied Science as an HVAC Service Technician. Steve & Shelly enjoyed hunting at their land in Bemidji and fishing at their lake place in Longville, MN. Also, they relished the many pheasant hunting trips to South Dakota with their dogs, Harley and Scout. Steve loved his country and was very patriotic. Pig roasts for 4th of July in a 275 gallon roaster that he made were a favorite activity for many family and friends whether neighbors at the lake, friends and family at his home in Lino Lakes, or for graduations, birthdays and other events. Steve's loud voice and infectious laugh will be missed. His family and friends can attest he showed up frequently unannounced to lend a hand with projects, staying to hang out and enjoy the company of those gathered there. His bright blue eyes twinkled when he found something particularly funny and even brighter when he pulled a prank or retold one that he had pulled off years ago. Steve fought a courageous battle throughout his extended illness. He demonstrated grace and caring to all his family and friends and never gave up hope. Visitation 2-5PM Sunday, May 12 at HOLCOMB-HENRY-BOOM-PURCELL, 515 Hwy 96 W., Shoreview. Funeral service 11AM (visitation begins at 10AM) Monday, May 13 at ROSEVILLE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1215 Roselawn Ave. N., Roseville. Interment Isanti Union Cemetery.
