Old Shakopee Rd.Steve Regan, 76, of Bloomington passed away on Sunday, April 23rd. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph & Ruby Regan, sister Louise Henke, and daughter Pam Regan. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Elaine Regan, daughter Mary Regan, grandson Jacob Wenzel, and sisters Karen Doughan and Nancy Holliday. Steve Regan was truly one of a kind. It is safe to assume that if you knew him, you and he had an inside joke together or he had a special nickname for you. He was outgoing and knew how to throw one heck of a party. Steve's annual birthday "Sports Fests" were known throughout the neighborhood and by the local police, ha ha! Nobody could tell a story quite like Steve. He could spin a tale complete with props, hand gestures, eye rolls, and sound effects, all with a Bud Light in his hand. You could almost imagine you were there and even if the story was "slightly" exaggerated, you were enthralled until the end. Often these stories had "practical" life lessons that us kids weren't quite sure we should actually follow. Steve truly, deeply loved his wife, Elaine. Her happiness was his number one goal. He would do anything to ensure that she was safe, comfortable, and enjoying life. From the moment they met he knew she was the one. He moved to Minnesota to be with her and pursued her until she just couldn't say no. He was a persistent man and an excellent role model on what a good husband should be. He was a dedicated and supportive father. He never missed a basketball game, skating competition, concert, or recital. If he wasn't participating as an assistant coach, acting as an usher, serving refreshments, or running the lights, he was in the audience cheering you on. While he often "complained" about us kids hanging out at his house and eating all his food, he actually loved having us there. He made everyone feel welcome and you never left hungry. The service will be held Sunday, April 30th at 2pm with a viewing one hour before at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapel located at 2300 W Old Shakopee Rd, Bloomington, MN 55431.
