Shirley Oriann Blaisdell

Shirley Oriann Blaisdell, 89, of St. Michael, MN, after 24 years of battling cancer, passed away peacefully on September 16th, 2024. Our beautiful, loving, sweet, silly, spunky "Sissy" has entered her heavenly home to be greeted by her sweet mother Hilda, her lovable grandson Shawn & her loving brothers. Preceded in death by father & mother, Clarence & Hilda Renstrom; Ralph Blaisdell; grandson, Shawn Blaisdell; brothers, Donald Renstrom & Allen Renstrom; half-brothers, Earl, Russell, Clifford & Frank Renstrom. Survived by son, Terry (Lauri) Blaisdell; brother, Clarence (Faye) Renstrom; sister, Bonnie (Charles) Enfield; sister-n-law's Gayle (Allen) Renstrom & Blanche (Donald) Renstrom; and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, family and friends. Shirley entered the work world with IDS in1951 until retiring in 1996 working in the financial arena doing Customer Service & Financial Advising. During her later years, she worked as a greeter for Sam's Club bringing her back to her fabulous Customer Service skills. She had beautiful snowy white hair that later turned into that vibrant purple that we all know her best by and that added to her already charismatic personality. Shirley's early years were surrounded by playful siblings & friends that brought out her charm & silliness from the start. She was a great mom & grandma through the years and treated all her nieces & nephews as her own when they were in her presence. This love carried on to her great nieces & nephews and many others. She was loving and overly giving to all. Shirley had a lifetime of extremely cohesive connections to her siblings. She was best friends with her sister Bonnie as they often were inseparable. Shirley volunteered many years to the church with Bonnie, including Loaves & Fishes. Her favorite verse was the 23th Psalm. Shirley traveled a bit throughout the years, mostly to see family and bask in the sun or try her luck in Vegas. She made so many friends, she loved to be surrounded by people, to laugh and live big regardless of her cancer. During her last decade of her Cancer, when it came back hard, she kept her spunk, strength & humor. Shirley decided to enter the Hospice program living independently in September of 2023. Her niece Tania continued to caretake & visit her daily bringing her sister Bonnie most evenings. She had weekly visits from her brother Pally & wife Faye and her good friend Hal from Sam's Club. She had many other calls & visitors, including her social media which kept her savvy & connected. In Shirley's last days, she was surrounded by her son Terry, many of her family & some friends. She whispered to each of us that she loved us & that she was not afraid. She will be greatly missed.
