Sharon Marie Kill

Sharon transitioned into Paradise on August 16, 2024 at St. Therese's Hospice in Shoreview surrounded by her family. She was a loving, care-free, supportive, sweet yet sometimes without a filter, beautiful wife, mother, grandma, daughter, sister, auntie, and friend. She was the wife of David Kill. They created memories for over 57 years of marriage. They traveled the world together. From camping trips on the North Shore to living in Encinitas, California for a few years. Their love for each other will never die. Sharon was born at Midway Hospital in St. Paul, MN on May 26, 1944. She was the daughter of Harold and Dagny Rongstad. She was the baby of her siblings Marilyn and Buzz. She graduated from Alexander Ramsey HS and from the U of M in Physical Therapy. She worked for 18 months, but after giving birth to her first born she became a stay-at-home mom while working as a PT if need be. Years later she went back to school and graduated from St. Catherine's in information Technology. She worked at the U of M as a librarian for over 20 years. Sharon was a member of the Roseville Mrs. Jaycee's. She also ran the Sunday preschool program at St. Odilia Catholic Church for years. She enjoyed camping, traveling, spending time with family especially her grandkids, baking, making people laugh and jokes that weren't always appropriate, playing mah-jong and tripoley, reading, dancing, singing, and listening to music. She will be remembered for always telling it like it is. For also supporting and being there for the people she loved. She wore her heart on her sleeve. She always took care of the people she loved. After battling dementia for 2-3 years, it was her time to be taken care of. She is survived by her husband, David Kill; children, Tim Kil (Ping) and Tara Moen: grandchildren, Lauren Moen (Lawrence); Oswin and Torsten; siblings, Marilyn Steinwall and Buzz Rongstad; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Amy Kill; her son in-law, Matthew Moen; and her parents, Harold and Dagny Rongstad, along with her grandparents and aunties/uncles. Visitation Thursday, August 29 from 4-7PM at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Home, Shoreview Chapel, 515 Hwy 96 W., Shoreview. Mass of Christian Burial 11AM (visitation begins at 10AM) Friday, August 30 at St. Odilia Catholic Church, 3495 N. Victoria St, Shoreview. Family interment later in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the St. Odilia Endowment Fund or Special Olympics.
