Sharlene Mary Tighe Hanson, Age 88, of Coon Rapids, MN, passed away at Epiphany Assisted Living on Saturday, July 5, 2025. Sharlene Mary Tighe Hanson was born in Madelia, MN on May 23, 1937. She worked at Northern States Power Company when she graduated from high school. She met and married her husband Allen Edward Hanson of Rice Lake, WI, on December 1, 1955. Sharlene is preceded in death by her husband Allen of 51 years, parents Lyle and Esther Tighe, brother Earle F. Tighe, sisters Lyla Hicks and Sharon Palmer, and brothers-in-law, Leroy Palmer and Peter Carney. Survived by daughter Debra Ann Panek (Dave) of Coon Rapids, MN; grandsons David Panek (Sarah) of Big Lake MN; and Dustin Panek (Nicole) of Ramsey MN. Great grandchildren, Morgan, Ava, Austin, Nella, and Alek. Sharlene is also survived by her sister Charlotte Carney, Beverly Hills, FL; and sister-in-law Barbara Tighe, Morton, MN. Sharlene had many nieces and nephews who she adored, Jill Metcalf (Jim), Boston, MA; Mark Hicks (Lucy), Bemidji, MN; Brad Carney (Tammy), Fort Thomas, KY; Honorable Judge Bruce Carney (Danielle), Beverly Hills, FL; Brian Carney (Tana), Beverly Hills, FL; Joan Tighe, Coon Rapids, MN; Gloria Guinee (Marty), Stillwater, MN; Darren Tighe (Sam), Madison, SD; Kelly Bell (Tim), Milwaukee, WI; Katie Brick (Jim), Milwaukee, WI; Stephen Palmer (Heather), Kansas City, MO; and Michelle Cherrier (Joe), Stillwater, MN. Sharlene was a wonderful wife and mother who enjoyed homemaking for many years. She loved to decorate her home and it was often said "you could eat off of her floor" because of her ability to keep a beautiful home. Sharlene was very artistic. She loved painting and especially loved doing Ceramics, where she won awards for pieces entered in Minnesota State Contests. She loved to bake (she was famous for her pumpkin bars), cookies, and Devil and Angel food cakes. She loved to entertain her family on holidays. In later years, she enjoyed visits with her family and especially with her great grandchildren. Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 AM, Thursday, July 17, 2025, Church of the Epiphany, 1900 111th Ave NW, Coon Rapids, MN. Burial: Private Burial will occur in the future at Fort Snelling National Cemetery with her husband Allen.
