Shannon Noëlle Torgerson Odermatt

Shannon Noëlle (Torgerson) Odermatt, passed away May 3, 2024, in Anoka, Minnesota. Shannon was born to mother Helen and father Lowell Torgerson on December 27, 1969 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She was married to Chris Odermatt for 22 years. She is survived by her parents, husband, and siblings to, whom she was a beloved big sister, Michelle (Kabra) of San Rafael, California, Mike (Nichole) of Minneapolis and Ryan of Prior Lake, Minnesota, and joyful auntie to Theo, Hugo and Lily. Always a lover of animals and adopting pets in need of good homes, she leaves behind her precious dogs, Bindi, Ziggy and Pakkun. Shannon graduated from North Saint Paul High School in the Class of 1988. It was then she developed her love for music, attending concerts of some of the most iconic acts of the time like Madonna, Prince, Bon Jovi, and Hall and Oates with her many lifelong friends with which she remained very close with until her death. After high school, Shannon spent over a decade in Florida. She met Chris in Tampa, and cultivated cherished friendships that she stayed in close contact with. She earned her Associate's Degree from Hillsboro Community College and attended the University of Central Florida. She cultivated her creativity by studying the arts, and especially loved pottery and capturing natural beauty through her gifts in photography. The highlight of her educational years was studying abroad in Germany and immersing herself in the culture and community. Shannon dedicated her life to making the world a more beautiful place through her passion for horticulture, landscaping, flowers, trees, and plants. Throughout the course of her career, she beautified thousands of homes across Florida and Minnesota. She loved sharing her love of nature and developed deep relationships with her colleagues and customers. Her love for landscaping was truly her passion and her work a labor of love. She will be remembered for her positivity, loyalty and commitment to her colleagues, vision and knowledge of the craft, and deep respect for the natural world. When she wasn't working, she found joy in helping friends and family in every way and had a gift for solving any problem with a smile. She devoted herself to making people's lives easier, no task was too big or too small. Whether helping to plant flowers, run errands, helping others move or get organized- she was always happy to lend a hand and provide support and comfort. She always showed up when asked or when you needed her, no questions asked. Shannon did everything with kindness and a smile. She lived her life in happiness and joy, and it was important to her that her friends and family were all happy, too, when they were around her. She is known for her humor, laugh and playful personality, always choosing to live on the fun side of life. Naturally then, everyone enjoyed her company. Shannon was open to new experiences and curious about the world and people. She always said "yes" to adventure and treasured her trips with her mom and sister. She enjoyed having breakfasts with her dad, and spending time with her brothers. She looked forward to Sunday drives with her husband and dogs and travelling frequently to see friends and family across the country. Her creativity and optimistic spirit found beauty around every corner, where others may see blight, Shannon found gorgeous light and hope. Shannon looked forward to attending the Minnesota State Fair every year with friends and family, especially her nephews. She always prioritized small and family-owned businesses and made a point to support them in the community.
