Scott David Lippert

God blessed Scott with many talents and gifts, and Scott's easy smile and infectious laugh were evidence of his wonderful but all too short life. Scott was "all in" on everything he did. He was fully invested and there was no in between. There was no greater display of this ethos than the fierce love he held for his family. To say his family was his priority is vastly minimizing Scott's love and dedication to Amy, Luca, Katie, and Andrew. Scott cherished his beautiful bride, Amy, whom he adored for 27 years and whom his world revolved around. Luca, Katie, and Andrew were the joy in his days. You probably never had a conversation with Scott where he didn't share with you with immense pride about his children. Not only would he share their many academic, musical, and athletic accomplishments, but he wanted you to know what genuinely good people they were growing up to be. Every school activity, sporting event, or musical pursuit took precedence in his schedule. Scott was the fixer, the do-er, the scheduler, the prankster, the hoops shooter, the planner, the advice giver, the workout buddy, the world traveler, the solver, the joke teller, the type A-er, and the tennis partner. No one could imagine a more loving, kind, devoted husband and Dad. If you knew Scott, you knew that he bled burgundy and orange for his alma mater, Virginia Tech. A proud Hokie, Scott graduated with honors with a BS in Management Science and was a member of Sigma Pi. The Corps of Cadets and ROTC program at VT was where Scott's foundation of giving his best efforts to whatever he undertook was developed. He was also named the VT Man of the Year in 2000, which was a wonderful honor and also a priceless opportunity for his siblings to mercilessly rib him. His love of all things VT is inextricably linked to meeting Amy and later, marrying her at the campus chapel. Scott was commissioned into the U.S. Navy and was pinned by his Dad, who was also active duty Navy. He proudly served for 7 years, including a tour on the submarine USS MAINE (SSBN-741), as well as teaching at the Nuclear Power Training Command in South Carolina. He earned a Masters in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University. Scott and Amy moved to Newnan, Georgia, where their young family continued to grow. Scott's civilian career started with McKinsey & Company as an Associate Partner, serving clients worldwide. They next moved to San Antonio for five years, where Scott brought his talents to USAA where he combined his love of our service members and veterans along with his financial expertise as the Chief Strategy Officer, CAO, and Head of Shared Services. During COVID, the family moved to Edina, Minnesota, where Scott served as the Executive Vice President and COO, Contact Centers at U.S. Bank. Scott's commitment to excellence was recognized throughout his career; not only for his technical expertise but his leadership, integrity, and ethics. In his "spare time" over the years, Scott served in various volunteer positions, including as a Big Brother/Big Sister and on the Board of Directors for McCormick Research Institute, whose mission is to serve veterans and individuals with special needs through equine assisted therapy. Scott was born on June 8, 1978, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. As the first child to his parents, he obviously received no attention or love. He will forever be missed by his parents, Keith and Linda Lippert; his cherished wife, Amy (Clevinger) Lippert; his precious children, Luca, Katie, and Andrew; his four legged family members Chloe, Riley, and Howie; his sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Eric Jensen, and nieces Molly and Caroline; sister and brother-in-law Cathy and Mike Muraco; his mother-in-law Suk Clevinger and brother-in-law Tim Clevinger; aunts, uncles, and cousins; and more friends and colleagues across the country than we can count, who brought laughter and community to his life. Scott suddenly and unexpectedly passed away on March 1, 2025, leaving a forever hole in our hearts. Because of his faith in Jesus Christ, we know Scott was warmly welcomed into heaven and was reunited with his grandparents, Bob and Ruth Scott and Fred and Lucille Lippert, and his father-in-law, Hershel Clevinger. We like to think that Scott was greeted by his "once in a lifetime" dog, Charlie, and they are once again enjoying each other's company. We invite his family, friends, and colleagues to help us honor and remember Scott at their church, Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, located at 5025 Knox Avenue South, Minneapolis. Visitation will be held Friday, March 7, 2025, from 12 pm to 2pm Central time. The funeral service will begin at 2 pm Central time at Mt. Olivet Church, immediately followed by a reception.
