Sandra Lee Davis

Sandra Lee Davis was born on January 15, 1942, in Moorhead, Minnesota, to Charles Anthony Moritz and Margaret Lucille Johnson. In her early years her family relocated to Grand Forks, North Dakota where they lived until the passing of her father when Sandra was just 12 years old. Following this loss, the family moved to the Twin Cities where her mother later remarried. Her stepfather, Wesley Kemling, became a devoted and influential presence in Sandra's life and played a significant role in raising her. From a young age, Sandra demonstrated a deep compassion for others-a quality that shaped the course of her life. She devoted herself to a lifelong career as a caregiver, serving both in professional settings and within her own circle of family and friends. Caring for others was not just her occupation, but a reflection of her generous spirit. Throughout her 84 years, Sandra nurtured a strong and abiding faith in Jesus Christ. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, offering her strength and guiding her relationships. She formed lasting friendships through both her work and personal life, touching many with her kindness, sincerity, and presence. Sandra was known for her strong personality and her willingness to speak her mind. She shared her opinions with conviction, offered practical advice, and delighted in passing along her cooking tips to those around her-often with both humor and heart. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Yet, we take comfort in the assurance that "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Charles Moritz; her mother, Margaret Kemling; her stepfather, Wesley Kemling; and her brothers, Charles Moritz and Michael Oye. She is survived by her sister, Vicki Oye of North Dakota; her children, Charles Davis, Michelle Porter, and Dayon Davis all of Minneapolis, 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends. Lastly, the family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to Colette Carr of Home Health Care, Inc., as well as the staff at Good Samaritan of New Hope, and Health Partners Hospice for the excellent care, compassion, and concern they provided. Private services to be held at Washburn McReavy Hillside Cemetery. Flowers are welcome and may be sent by Friday April 3rd 2026.
