Sam M. Clark April 26, 1936 - October 17, 2025 Arden Hills, Minnesota It is with deep love that the family of Sam M. Clark shares his passing on October 17, 2025, at the age of 89. Sam passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 26, 1936, Sam lived a full and meaningful life marked by love, laughter, and hard work. He shared 70 wonderful years with his beloved wife and high school sweetheart, Barbara (Heider) Clark, building a family grounded in love, humor, and faith. Sam earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota while raising his young family in the 1960s. He devoted over 40 years to a successful career at 3M, where he began in the pilot plant at age 19 and rose to become a Sales Executive. He was also the author of several patents, a testament to his intelligence, creativity, and strong work ethic. Outside of work, Sam was a man of many passions. A creative soul, he loved photography, travel, and later in life, woodworking. He and Barbara shared a love of travel, splitting time between their Lake Vermilion cabin and their home in Naples, Florida, enjoying every road trip in between. Sam will be remembered for his quick wit, engaging storytelling, and warm sense of humor. He had a rare gift for making those around him laugh and feel at ease. Above all, he was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and a loyal friend. Sam is survived by his wife, Barbara Clark; children Jeff (Kathy) Clark, Julie Tilert, Lisa (Jay) Hollenback, and Jon (Jen) Clark; grandchildren Chris (Julie) Wright, Matt (Deneen) Wright, Ryan (Angie) Clark, Joe Hollenback, Katie (Alex) Armbruster, and Adele, Tom, and Sam Clark; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Clark; brother, Richard (Dick) Clark; and daughter, Debra Wright. A Catholic Mass celebrating Sam's life will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 at St. John's Catholic Church in New Brighton, Minnesota. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m., with a luncheon to follow. Private interment will take place afterward. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Our Lady of Peace Hospice (https://ourladyofpeacemn.org/), whose compassionate care brought comfort to Sam and his family in his final days.
