RoseMary Sullivan

Sullivan RoseMary, of Minnetonka, died at peace 10/20/04, after facing cancer resolutely for a year & a half. RoseMary Roegner was born 5/4/ 33, and grew up in New Holstein, WI. She graduated New Holstein High School in 1951 and earned a bachelor's in occupational therapy from the University of Wisconsin. She married Patrick Sullivan in 1957 and moved to St. Paul, where her seven children were born and raised. She was drawn to OT as a young woman because of the creativity it required. She returned to practice in 1983 and worked mainly in nursing homes before retiring as clinical services manager for NovaCare, which honored her with its Chairman's Award. Her therapeutic work continued after retirement and expanded in recent years to include healing touch and reiki. She was a mentor, teacher and friend to dozens of colleagues. In death RoseMary joins her father and mother, Bernard and Otillia Roegner; sister, Agnes Hart; and brother, Frank Roegner. She is survived by the sister with whom she shared a thousand laughs, Dee (Bob) Kraus of Lexington, KY, and by seven children and 12 grandchildren. She was enormously proud of each of them and with them knew joy. They are: daughter Kathleen Sullivan, her husband, Roger Torda, and their sons, Nathan and Ben, of Hastings-On-Hudson, NY; son Patrick Sullivan, his wife, Cindy Bulik, and their children, Brendan, Emily and Natalie, of Chapel Hill, NC; son Daniel Sullivan, his wife, Donna Kirchner, and their children, Haley and Connor, of Raleigh, NC; son Kevin Sullivan of South St. Paul; son Michael Sullivan, his wife, Mari Connolly-Sullivan, and their children, Colin, Anna and Meghan, of Farmington, MI; daughter Shari Sullivan- Marshall, her husband, Dano Marshall, and their sons, Sully and Liam, of Crested Butte, CO; and son Jack Sullivan of St. Paul. RoseMary will be buried Nov. 6 in New Holstein. Memorial service 2-6 PM Sunday, 11/7 at the Minnesota Boat Club, 1 Wabasha St., Raspberry Island, St. Paul.
