Rosemary Elizabeth Berreau

Berreau, Rosemary Elizabeth 80, died on November 10th, 2016 peacefully at home in Golden Valley, MN, surrounded by love and care. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred, son Jay, and granddaughter Christine. Rosemary was born on July 24th, 1936 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Nicholas and Frances Forrette. She was raised in Adrian, MN, and graduated from Good Counsel Academy. At age 19, she met and fell in love with Alfred James Berreau from Brewster. Shortly after they married on September 1st, 1956 they moved to North East Minneapolis where they welcomed their daughter Linda in 1958. Rosemary's early career was working as a paralegal for many years as her husband Al attended the School of Architecture at the University of Minnesota. Their son Shaun arrived in 1969 followed by Nick in 1970, Jay in 1973 and Misha in 1978. Rosemary was a lifelong avid and voracious reader of non-fiction, biographies, and history books. She was a very astute businesswoman who loved new challenges and opportunities. She also loved to travel and some of her favorite places were Greece, London, Paris, Rome, Florence, New York, Ireland, Jamaica, Barbados, Tenerife, Prague and most especially, Playa Del Carmen, Mexico! She and her daughter Linda first arrived in Playa Del Carmen in 1993. In 1996 Rosemary fulfilled a lifelong dream by assisting in the building of a home in the Caribbean. She spent the last 20 years escaping MN winters by living in Playa with her husband and son Jay where she made many friends and had wonderful adventures. She will be greatly missed by her surviving children: Linda (Dayle), Shaun, Nick (Lynn), and Misha; grandchildren: Amy Fee (Paul), Stephanie Davis (Jeffrey), Melanie Danh (John) and Alex Miller (Devyn); great-grand-children: James and Emma Fee, Mason and Autumn Davis, and Evan Danh. The family wishes to thank everyone who assisted in caring for her while she was in hospice. Visitation at 9 am prior to service. Funeral services at 10 am on Wednesday, November 16th, at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1 Lourdes Place, Minneapolis, MN 55414. Phone - 612-379-2259.
