Rose Mary Druar

Rose Mary Druar passed away peacefully on September 20, 2018 at the Lyngblomsten Care Center where the staff and her family provided for her every comfort and wellbeing with interest and concern. Rose Mary was born in St. Paul, MN on December 18, 1929 to Carl and Mary Ellen (Burke) Willoughby and spent her entire life as a resident of St. Paul. Rose Mary married Sylvester Druar in 1951 and they settled in Merriam Park to raise a family. Rose Mary and Sylvester were devoted communicants of the St. Marks Parish where "Sy" volunteered his 'fix anything' skills to help other members of the community and Rose Mary NEVER missed donating hours and hours to the annual "Rummage Sale". Rose Mary was for a while a stay at home mom until her two kids were in high school at which point she went to work as a teacher's aide at the "Hancock Public Grade School", a job she cherished and never stopped reminiscing about well into her seventies. Rose Mary was an active Lay Carmelite member in the Third Order of our lady of Mount Carmel. Rose Mary was also a Sales Representative for Avon products although her huge heart and compassion had her giving away more products than she sold. Rose Mary loved cooking, talking about cooking, as well as trying and sharing recipes. Her expertise however was as a baker. Rose Mary with husband Sy as the stirrer, baked the most scrumptious, perfectly sized cookies and bars EVER. Rose Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Sylvester Druar, and survived by daughter Mary Ellen, her husband Jerry Lesnau, son Michael and his wife Deb, grandchildren Dr. Nicholas Druar, Jillian Druar, and Katherine Rose (Kadyrose) Druar, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Visitation is 3-7 pm Monday (Oct. 1st) at Holcomb-Henry-Boom-Purcell Funeral Home, 536 N. Snelling Ave., St. Paul. A Mass of Christian Burial is set for 10 am Tuesday, Oct. 2nd (visitation 9-10 AM) at the Church of St. Mark, 2001 Dayton Ave., St. Paul. Interment will follow at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery beside her loving husband Sylvester Druar. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Lyngblomsten Foundation by contacting foundation@lyngblomsten.org
