Rollin James Feggestad

Rollin James Feggestad, age 91, of Stoughton, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, with his family lovingly by his side. Born on May 7, 1934, in Stoughton, Rollin was the son of Helga and Alfred Feggestad. He was the eighth of nine children raised on several farms near Stoughton in a proud Norwegian family. His heritage was a source of joy and tradition throughout his life. Rollin graduated from Stoughton High School in 1952. His fourth-grade report card once read, "a very likeable child-a very good worker and helper." That sounds very much like the Rollin we all knew. In 1960, Rollin married Gwendolyn Skinner, and together they had three daughters: Robin, Traci, and Marni. He held a deep fondness for his extended family, especially his in-laws Pat and Fred Haynie. Time spent farming in Circle, Montana marked a formative chapter for the newlyweds, filled with hard work and lifelong memories. Rollin's bond with Fred and love of his music endured for decades. Rollin was a devoted father and grandfather, known for his steady support, deep love, and warm presence. He also shared a meaningful chapter of his life with his partner, Betty Seamonson. Together, they made their home on Oakwood Court in Stoughton, hosting countless celebrations and Syttende Mai gatherings filled with laughter and tradition. Professionally, Rollin worked as a supervisor for Western Electric for over 30 years, earning respect for his dedication and keen observation. He was a longtime member of the Sons of Norway and West Koshkonong Lutheran Church, where he was an active and generous volunteer. Beyond work, Rollin lived life to the fullest. He was funny, sharp-witted, and never missed a chance to tell a joke. He loved his dog friends, dancing, cribbage, and playing cards with family and friends. With a bright smile and a twinkle in his eye, he was always ready with a story, a laugh, or a clever one-liner. His friendships guided him through life-whether lending a hand on a project, driving a semi-truck for farmers, or enjoying his favorite pastime: "Pickin' and a Grinnin'." Not one to sit still for long, Rollin's passions were many to include cheering on his Packers and Badgers with gusto. He is survived by his daughters Robin, Traci, and Marni; his sister Nina Barker; and his beloved grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and joy. His cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends kept him a busy, happy man. Rollin now joins those who went before him: his parents Alfred and Helga; siblings Clifford, Ruth, Irene, Delaine, Arden, Audrey, and Yvonne; in-laws Fred and Pat Haynie; Gwendolyn; and his beloved corgi friend, Tasha. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him with laughter, love, and deep affection. Celebration of Life We hope you can join us in celebrating Rollin's life during the Syttende Mai festival in Stoughton, Wisconsin, the weekend of May 15-17, 2026. A service will be held at West Koshkonong Lutheran Church 1911 Koshkonong Rd, Stoughton, WI 53589 Burial to follow. Specific date and time will be announced at a later date.
