Roberta Tate Krohn

Roberta Tate Olsen, daughter of Robert and Reva (Tate) Olsen, was born 7-24-1946, in Barea, Ohio. She was raised and attended school in Barron, Wisconsin, graduating in 1964. She received her Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 1969. She married Henry H. Krohn in Faribault, Mn, on November 6, 1976. She was employed as a social worker at the Rochester State Hospital, Dakota County Social Services and Faribault State Hospital. She and her husband owned and operated Ceramics of Faribo 1981 to 1984. Robbie and Henry spent their in Arizona after her retirement. While at the Sunbird Community in Chandler, Arizona, Roberta taught ceramics. She was loved and appreciated by her students and friends. Robbie shared her patience and talent with all who went to create works of art or functional items such as coffee cups or beer steins. At Real Life Senior Co-op in Burnsville, MN, she continued to be active with dominoes, cards and bingo. Her wit and personality will be missed by the many friends she made wherever she lived. Roberta embraced her family and was proud of her heritage. She was the great niece of the Reverand James Lloyd Breck, founder of the Shattuck School in Faribault, Mn. Her lineage can be traced back to the Mayflower. Her Ohio and Wisconsin roots blended with the Krohn heritage of Southern Minnesota. She was an only child who married into a family of multiple brothers and their wives, and one sister. The German culture of the Krohn family with all the extended family was embraced as she was loved by all. Raising 4 adolescent step children was always an adventure she managed with grace and love. The daily activities as they grew were a priority for her and Henry, always making time and welcoming friends and family. She was survived by the 4 step children, Vince of the Philippines, Randy (and Shannon) of Silver Bay, Minnesota, Dean of Faribault, Minnesota and Lora Vagts (Kurt Kunze) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, nine grand children, 3 great grand children and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Reva Olsen and her husband Henry H. Krohn.
