Robert William Norwick

Robert (Bob) William Norwick, 73, died unexpectedly January 12,2023 at Regions Hospital in the arms of his loving wife, Mary. He was born September 18,1949 to Richard and Lorraine Norwick. Bob has two daughters, Holly and Cassie Norwick, from his first marriage to Jennett Norwick. In 2002, Bob married Mary (Bollmann) and they celebrated 20 happy years of marriage just last year. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Darren Bollmann (Mary's son). His surviving family includes his wife Mary, his daughters Cassie and Holly with grandchildren Haylie, Kacie, Sapphire, and Gracie; brother Tom Norwick and sister Karen Rau and husband Gary. Mary's daughter Dana (Bollmann) and her husband Brett Legler with Grandchildren Drew and Megan and Megan and Wyatt's great grandson Rowan; Mary's son Brad Bollmann and his wife Liz with grandchildren Mikayla and Kyle Bailey. Along with many cousins and nephews and nieces and dear friends. Bob was called into ministry and went to seminary where he acquired his Master's Degree in both divinity and family counseling. Rev. Norwick served three churches: first in Delavan, IL, then at St. John's Lutheran Church in Villard, MN, and lastly at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sauk Rapids, MN. He retired from ministry in 1993. Later he continued working at the Toyota and Nissan Dealership where he gained many more valuable friendships. Bob was a very kind, generous and gentle man with a strong work ethic. He had great compassion for those in need and always helped in any way he could. His faith was deep and unwavering and his love for God spilled over into everything that he did and was felt and witnessed by all who knew him. The only thing that rivaled Bob's passion, outside of family and faith, was his love of sports. He was very competitive in his younger years and that was only interrupted due to a college knee injury. Football was his favorite sport to watch and his dedication to (and critique of) the Minnesota Vikings was unprecedented. He also loved to golf and those who golfed with him always had stories to tell of what happened when the ball didn't go where it was supposed to. Bob was very intelligent, witty, and funny; he had a lot of one-liners that always kept you on your toes. He loved bakeries, buffets and finding a good happy hour, coupons, and bargains. Some of our favorite memories to share were long motorcycle rides, Florida road trips, spending time with family, people watching at Mall of America, father/daughter talks, Sunday morning drives, and spotting animals in the nature he so dearly loved. We will always wish for just one more cheap beer, one more time to go to church, and one more laugh with our dear friends. Bob touched many lives, imparting God's hope and wisdom to all he could. It brings us great comfort knowing he is now in the arms of the One he spent his whole life sharing with others. Service at Bloomington Lutheran Church, 9350 Portland Ave S, Bloomington, MN 55420. Reviewal will be January 24 at 10:00 am, service at 11:00 am, with lunch following. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Minneapolis Gospel Missions or donor's choice.
