Robert William Heyer II, age 79, of Bloomington, MN, passed away on March 12, 2026. Preceded in death by parents Richard and Ethel. Survived by wife Janice A. Heyer, children Jennifer (Harald) Endresen, Jonathan (Nicole), Rebecca White and Katherine (William) Pyne; 4 siblings Thomas (Gloria), Donald (Karen), Richard Jr. (Debra) and Debra (Michael) Nibbe; 12 precious grandchildren Peter (Ingrid) Endresen, Micah (Autumn) White, Markus Endresen, Jacob Heyer, Bella White, Megan Heyer, Alexis White, David Endresen, Levi White, Kel Savage, William Pyne III, Elizabeth Pyne. Visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. with service at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 23 at Oxboro Evangelical Free Church, Bloomington, MN. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mercy Ships. Robert William Heyer II (Bob) was born May 16, 1946 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Bob was the first child born to Richard Ellis and Ethel Katherine Heyer. He has three brothers Thomas, Donald, and Richard Jr. and one sister Debra. His first childhood home was in St. Louis Park, MN shortly followed by a family move to Bloomington, MN. Their home was on Morgan Ave. near Nine Mile Creek. In 1964, Bob graduated from Lincoln High School. Bob attended Bethany College of Missions and graduated in 1967 after interning at Teen Challenge in New York. In 1969 he was given the opportunity to support Bethany Missions operations in Brazil (Editora Betania) where he met Janice Smith. After a year-long courtship, he married the love of his life on January 14, 1972 at Bethany Chapel, Bloomington, MN. Soon after their honeymoon, the new couple went to Brazil on a two-year commitment to support Bethany mission work. Following this time in Brazil, they moved back to Minneapolis where Bob attended and graduated from North Central University in 1975, earning a bachelor's degree in Bible and Religious Education. They welcomed their first daughter, Jen, in the fall of 1976 and were formally asked by Bethany Fellowship to serve as missionaries in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. In 1978, they relocated to São Paulo, Brazil, where Bob used his graphic design skills to support Christian publishing companies to further the gospel. Their family continued to grow with the joyous arrivals of their son Jon and daughters Becky and Kathy. Bob founded Missão Evangélica de Comunicação Visual (Evangelical Mission for Visual Communication) in 1985 and directed it until 1992 when the family moved back to Bloomington, MN. Two Portuguese Bible translations were among the many mission's projects. The mission continued for another 15 years leaving a lasting legacy on the Brazilian Evangelical community. After returning from Brazil, Bob continued to use his graphic design and photography skills working in the private sector and as a small business owner. Later, Bob's love for computers and tech led him to work at the Apple Store at Southdale in Edina, MN where he worked for 18 years. His calling as a missionary had not changed; the mission field was just closer to home. In his later years, Bob spent as much time as possible with family. He was hardly seen without a camera around his neck. Taking pictures of his grandchildren became not only a hobby but a passion. Bob and Jan's hospitality and generosity extended to their family, friends and strangers alike, meeting God's call to love Him and others. Many benefited from a loving place to stay and amazing meals. His calling to lead others to Christ was a constant in his life. For Bob, pointing others to Christ started with his family and he never missed an opportunity to steer his children and grandchildren to seek the Lord, constantly praying that not a single one should be lost. Throughout Bob's ten-month battle with cancer he was blessed to stay in his home under Jan's loving care. He went to see the Lord peacefully in his sleep and is now in the presence of his King.
