Robert John Fuller, Sr.

Robert John Fuller (Bob) was born August 22, 1925, to Cyrus and Gladys, in Ravenswood outside of Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the youngest of three boys. Upon graduating from Broad Ripple High School, Bob entered the United States Navy during World War II and served as a radio operator on a submarine. After his military service, Bob met and married Rhoda Robertson on June 27, 1947. A few years later, both Bob and Rhoda accepted Christ as their Savior. They had four children: Robert Jr, Deborah, Judith, and Cathryn. In 1962, Bob accepted the position of Assistant to the Pastor at Eagledale Baptist Church under Dr. Warren Dafoe. Accepting God's call to the ministry, Bob moved his family to Owatonna, Minnesota, in 1964 to attend Pillsbury Baptist Bible College. Upon graduation, Bob became a church planting missionary with the Minnesota Baptist Association. He started churches in Waseca, Minnesota, and Albert Lea, Minnesota. During this time, he taught classes at Pillsbury Baptist Bible College. In 1972, Bob accepted the call to be the pastor at Coon Rapids Baptist Church where he also led the church to start Coon Rapids Christian School and to build this current auditorium. Robert retired from full-time ministry in 1996 and began ministering to churches as the State Missionary of the Minnesota Baptist Association. During this ministry he also pastored the church in St. Peter, Minnesota, for a short time. Robert lived with his wife, Rhoda, at the Villas of Caroline (Mary T) in Coon Rapids until he became a resident at Park River Estates Care Center. Robert went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 30, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cyrus and Gladys, and his brothers, William and Cyrus. He is survived by Rhoda, his wife of 77 years; son, Robert Jr (Jacque); daughter, Deborah; daughter, Judith (Tim); daughter, Cathryn (Joe); 9 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Park River Estates Care Center. Their care, service, concern, and friendship meant a lot to Bob and the whole family. Bob continued his godly ministry until his death. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Coon Rapids Baptist Church, 11164 Hanson Blvd. NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55433.
