Nordquist, Richard A. Age 90, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017. Resided in Edina, MN & Bonita Springs, FL. Born April 12, 1927 to Mabel & Richard Nordquist, Mpls. MN. Survived by loving wife Alice (Allie), sons Randy III, St. Paul, Robert, Mpls, daughter Noel (Sue) Cisneros & husband Mike, Alameda, CA; step daughter Lisa (John) Mandile & Tom (Denise) Krosschell of Eden Prairie, Todd (Nancy) Krosschell, Highlands Ranch, CO; grandchildren Ben, Grace, Claire, Hope & Emily Nordquist, Elena & Nick Cisneros, Kristin (Jason) Fawver, Nate (Tate) Krosschell, Kara Krosschell; Sara Krosschell & Ben (Emily) Krosschell; GGC Kenley & Nolan Fawver; sister Nancy Nordquist, niece & nephew Nancy & Peter (Sara) Rowland. He was preceded in death by wife, Jane and his parents. He graduated from Southwest H.S. in January 1945 and was drafted into the Army a month later at age 18. He was proud to have served in World War II. He graduated from the U of MN in 1950 and married Jane Morine. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs, FL, President & owner of Nordquist Sign Co until his retirement in 1998. Member of Interlachen CC, Edina, Worthington CC, Bonita Springs, FL, Member of Executive Committee of International Sign Service, West ARC NEON Assn, National Electric Sign Assn. Former director of First Bloomington & Lake National Banks. Edina Lodge AF&AM, Zuhrah Temple, Suburban Gyro men's club, "POETS", GOBS, Day Breaker Breakfast Club, Downtown Rotary, former member of Mpls Athletic Club, & served on the Vestry of St. Stevens Episcopal Church in Edina. He was a man full of puns & limericks & loved retelling Scandinavian jokes. He had an amazing memory and was a fearless tennis competitor in younger years & he loved playing golf. He had a great love of cars & restoring them. Special thanks to caregivers Mike & Cindy, Brett Johnson & Bill Butler & the staff at NC Little Hospice House. Memorial Service 11 am Monday, September 25th with visitation beginning at 10 am at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave. South, Minneapolis. Lunch following the service at church.
