Odagwe, Prince Dele Age 64 of Brooklyn Park, passed away on June 5, 2026. Preceded in death by John Odagwe, father, brother Lawrence Odagwe, and sister Queen Imarhiagbe. Prince is survived by, Timothy Downs (son), Jenny Chesin Downs (spouse to Timothy), Matina Adolphe (daughter), Jordyn Odagwe (daughter), Trae Odagwe (son), Victoria Odagwe, (mother), Roland Odagwe, (brother), Emmanuel Odagwe (brother), Isioma Okeke, (sister), Blessing Adodo, (sister), Joy Udoroh (sister), and John Odagwe (brother). Born in Nigeria, Prince moved to Minnesota at the age of 18, where he built a life rooted in family, friendship, service, and community. He remained deeply connected to his Nigerian heritage and was an active member in many local Nigerian associations, where he formed lifelong friendships and proudly celebrated the culture and traditions that shaped him. Prince spent his life's work caring for those who needed it most, bringing dignity, kindness, and comfort to countless individuals and families. As a nurse in long-term care, he understood that caring for the elderly was not only about meeting physical needs, but about honoring life stories, fostering connection, and preserving dignity in every moment. His gentle presence and sincere compassion left a lasting impression on residents, families, and colleagues alike. Beyond the bedside, Prince lit up every room he entered. He possessed a warmth and energy that naturally drew people to him because he was, at his core, made of love. His love for others was evident in the way he celebrated their accomplishments, mentored and guided those around him, and offered unwavering support during times of need. Prince had an extraordinary heart and shared his love generously with so many people. Family meant everything to Prince. He cherished time spent with his children and loved sharing in their interests, accomplishments, and everyday moments. Whether attending sporting events, catching up over sushi, working out together, or simply enjoying the company of family and friends, Prince found joy in being present with the people he loved. Wherever Prince was, laughter was never far behind. He had a remarkable ability to bring people together, filling every gathering with humor, warmth, and joy. Those who knew Prince Odagwe will remember his quiet strength, his steady reassurance during difficult times, and his unwavering dedication to doing what was right. He found purpose in service and meaning in caring for others, leaving behind a legacy defined by compassion, integrity, and generosity of spirit. Above all, we will miss his smile-a reflection of the kindness, warmth, and love he so freely shared with everyone around him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him-residents, staff, friends, and family. His life's work serves as a lasting reminder of the difference one person can make through kindness and dedication. A funeral service will be held with close friends and family on Wednesday, June 17th at Washburn-McReavy Glen Haven Chapel at 3pm with visitation beginning one hour prior to service. We invite all who loved and knew Prince to join his Celebration of Life Gathering following the funeral on June 17th at Ebenezer Community Church at 5pm.
