Phyllis Irlene Meyer

Phyllis Irlene Meyer, age 89, died of complications from lung cancer on June 18th, 2018, in her home in Manassas, VA. Phyllis is survived by her daughter Nancy Terseck and husband Michael Terseck, their children Meagan (Timothy) Sherrange and John (Jenny) Terseck; her brother Wayne McCoy; her step-son Daniel Meyer, his wife Ellen Meyer, and children Katherine (Jason) Meyer-Simeon, Andrew Meyer, and Benjamin Meyer; as well as step-daughter Nancy Wilson and her children Samuel Wilson and Alexandra Wilson; her grand-children Daniel (Kathryn) Damico, Elizabeth Damico, and Matthew (Anna) Damico. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Minnie and Jay McCoy; brothers Everett, Dale, Kenneth, Darrel, and Donald McCoy; her husband Ervin Meyer; and her step-daughter Barbara Damico and her husband Lawrence Damico. Phyllis was born on March 28th, 1929 in Tamarack, MN to Minnie and Jay McCoy. She lived in Minnesota for most of her life growing up in Aitkin and moving to Brainerd soon after finishing high school. She had one daughter, Nancy Terseck. Phyllis married Ervin Rudolph Meyer in 1980. She relocated to Virginia in 1990 to be closer to her daughter Nancy. Phyllis loved her family, and adored spending time with her grandchildren. Phyllis could often be found in the kitchen baking cookies for her family and neighbors, which is something she loved to do. She had a strong faith in God and knew that he had a plan for her. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00PM Friday, June 22, 2018 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA where a funeral service will be held at 12:30PM Saturday, June 23, 2018 with Leslie Oakes officiating. Interment services will be Wednesday, June 27th at 10:30 AM in the chapel at Roselawn Cemetery; Roseville, Minnesota. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Phyllis's life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Larry Damico Memorial Fund c/o Daniel Damico, 1610 12th Street South, Moorehead, MN 56560.
