Peter John Beacom

Peter John Beacom died December 26th, 2024, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, after over a year of intensive treatment for metastatic seminoma. He was 46 years old. Peter is survived by his wife, Stephanie Linde of Bloomington, Minnesota; his children, Leo Magnus and Saskia Gold Beacom; his parents, Kay and Tom Beacom of Ames, Iowa; his sisters, Jessica (Ben) Fisher, of Boone, Iowa, and Ann (Adam) Beacom of Denver, Colorado; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, nieces, and nephews that will miss him dearly. Peter was born on August 20th, 1978, in Rochester, Minnesota. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2002 with a degree in Computer Science. He graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a Master's Degree in Software Engineering in 2011. He spent his professional career working in software development in entrepreneurial and internal roles throughout the Minneapolis and St. Paul area. Peter married Stephanie Linde in 2009. Over 15 years, the couple went on countless outdoor adventures and were blessed with two children. Stephanie, Leo, and Saskia were the center of Peter's world. He cherished being a husband and father to them. Nothing was more important to him. As a family they enjoyed outdoor adventures together and seeing the natural beauty of Minnesota and the greater U.S. Peter's sense of humor, storytelling talent, intrepid nature, and commitment to his family defined his life. He stayed connected with his family near and far and maintained life-long friendships from childhood. Peter took every phone call and ventured on every trip he could to visit his loved ones. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and learning about new technologies. As an outdoor enthusiast and conservationist, he supported environmental groups focused on preserving the natural world, from the Minnesota Prairie Chicken Society to the World Wildlife Fund. Memorial service to be held at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota on January 14th, 2025, at 11 AM. Visitation one hour prior. Pastor Rebecca Freeman will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Peter's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Minnesota Land Trust at https://mnland.org/ to honor Peter.
