Paul Lester Biason

Paul Lester Biason was born October 8, 1968, in Granite City, Illinois. With a heart that was able to provide more love and compassion than to sustain his earthly body, he passed away on June 21, 2023. His passing was unexpected and quick, so he did not suffer. He was able to spend his last full day, and the day before, and the day before... with Team Biason. Paul's number one priority was his family. His family meant the world to him, and he meant the world to them. He was involved in everything his children did and always supported their activities and efforts. His holidays were spent with either the McDonald or Biason sides of the families. He was fortunate that his children were either living in his basement or within 20 minutes of his home, so everyone was able to get together at least once a week for a family meal (which he always cooked) and family game night (when his wife insisted). Paul is survived by Team Biason; his wife Krista McDonald Biason, his daughter Emilia, son Paul, Emilia's fiancée (the bonus child) Alaina Dabson, and his cat Flotilla. He is also survived by his mother Sandy Kunick, his sister Michelle Moore and her family, Marta McDonald, Kevin McDonald's family, and Kyle McDonald's family, in addition to countless aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by a solid group of friends who supported and loved him as a brother. Paul graduated from Dunwoody College of Technology and worked at McGough Construction as a Project Executive. He spent most of his career in the Healthcare Sector working on large projects like St Joseph's Hospital Expansion in St. Paul Minnesota, as well as rural healthcare projects like Glacial Ridge Health System in Glenwood, Minnesota. He recently expanded his project types to lead a construction project for a high-tech data company research facility. He enjoyed the construction field and really enjoyed mentoring and teaching emerging staff. His professionalism, expertise, and integrity were well regarded in the construction industry. Paul loved working with his hands and was often found "puttering" around the house working on various projects. He worked on several significant remodels of his home and was very patient every time his wife got a new idea for a project. He enjoyed spending time with his friends going on golf trips or fishing excursions and was always the first one to offer help if someone needed somethings moved, fixed, or cooked. Paul wasn't a man of many words, but his actions spoke volumes. His kindness, consideration, and compassion showed how much he cared. He was incredibly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and his friends. In Paul's honor, please take time to spread some kindness by helping a friend, buying someone their favorite bottle of wine, fixing something around the home, or making a lovely dinner for those you love. Visitation will be at Washburn-McReavy Eden Prairie Chapel on Saturday, July 15th from 1:30 - 3:30 pm with a Fare You Well program following at 3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to an organization that he supported: Tunnels to Towers Foundation (t2t.org) or Animal Humane Society (animalhumanesociety.org). The family would like to encourage people stopping by the event to wear bright colors, golf shirts, or even a tie dye shirt instead of traditional formal black attire.
