Patricia Jordan Tennyson

Tennyson, Patricia "Trish" Jordan of Edina, beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Jan 25, 2024, at the age of 65. Born Jan 31, 1958 in Mpls, Trish grew up in Edina with her parents, Bill and Marlys Jordan, and brother Mark. In high school, she was a synchronized swimmer and a lifeguard at the Edina Pool in the summer. After graduating from Edina HS in 1976, she earned her bachelor's degree at UMN-Twin Cities where she was a member of Alpha Phi. After college, she worked at Dayton's, Trimfit socks, and Excelsior Animal Hospital. She volunteered at the Minnetonka Public Schools Foundation, St. Joseph's Home for Children, and Toys For Tots. She was a Master Gardener with the UMN Extension and volunteered dozens of hours every year sharing her knowledge and love of plants. Trish's main joy in life was being with her kids and grandkids whom she loved unconditionally. She was an exceptionally fun grandmother, always ready to play games, read stories, and be silly. She loved to travel and was an easygoing and fun travel companion, brightening any outing with her humor and sense of adventure. On trips you'd find her stooped down sifting through rocks and shells on the beach, looking for the most beautiful ones. A free spirit, she would say "yes" to anything interesting and never shied away from an opportunity to meet new people. Her laugh was infectious and she loved corny jokes. Trish made others feel welcome and at ease with her warmth and positivity. She was a loving daughter and caregiver to her parents and treasured every moment with them. She would immerse herself completely into her hobbies, and was passionate about gardening, agates, LEGOs, live theater, pottery, dogs, and charitable work. More than once Trish provided a loving home to a dog that did not have another place to go. Though cut short, Trish's life was full of laughter, hugs, dogs, rocks, and plants. She is survived by her parents, Martin "Bill" and Marlys Jordan, brother Mark Jordan (Sue), daughter Alexa (Ted Salzman) and son Ryley (Morgan Walker), grandchildren Theo and Freya, niece Amy Jonas (Josh), nephew Michael Jordan (Rachel), and grandnephews Carson and Wyatt. Memorial service will be held on March 2, 2024 at 11:00am with a visitation at 10:00am at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Edina (ststephens.com). Donations in her memory may be made to the MN Landscape Arboretum and Underdog Rescue MN.
